JOHN CHO TO LEAD NETFLIX'S FIREFLYESQUE SPACE WESTERN TV SERIES COWBOY BEBOP WITH ALEX HASSELL, DANIELLA PINEDA!

  'COWBOY BEBOP' SF SHOW
FINDS ITS LEAD IN JOHN CHO!
John Cho will lead the ten part mini series
Some space fantasy for you today (especially those of you who still miss Firefly): John Cho will lead new space Western series COWBOY BEBOP at Netflix together with Mustafa Shakir, Daniella Pineda and Alex Hassell! The genre bending story, a live action adaptation of cult Japanese animated series, will, as Deadline reports, follow a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world… for the right price.

John Cho will play Spike Spiegel, an impossibly cool “cowboy” (bounty hunter) with a deadly smile, a wry wit, and style to spare who travels the solar system with his ex-cop partner, Jet (Mustafa Shakir), pursuing the future’s most dangerous bounties with a combination of charm and charisma! Pineda will play Faye Valentine, a bold, brash and unpredictable bounty hunter, a thorn in Spike
Alex Hassell and Daniella Pineda will star in the sf series as well
and Jet’s side. Hassell (whom we watched in BBC's Miniaturist) is Vicious, a man who thoroughly enjoys a good kill, the most notorious hitman. He’s also Spike Spiegel’s ex-partner and arch-enemy. Thor's Chris Yost is writing and executive producing!

  1. Does not sound like my cuppa tea, but John Cho is so adorable, I might have to tune in anyway.

    1. Jason might like it if he loved Firefly like I did!

    2. We never did watch Firefly. Didn't it only last one season or so? I think that's one that had a big cult following who were pretty pissed when it got cancelled.

    3. It had about 17 episodes or something like that, it was uber cool, I loved it myself, great fun of a series, especially as it aired in the time when sf wasn't overly present on the telly. You'd probably love it as Nathan Fillion was a major cat's meow back then and Jason would pop his eyes out at Morena Baccarin.

  2. He's got a friendly face (John Cho).
Japanese story, Korean leading actor - all's in the family, as they say.
