Will Smith seems to be the most mediocre choice for this role). 2. they gave lead roles to utterly unknown generic young stars who look like they came out of Hannah Montana or High School Musical. 3. the trailer gives an impression of a very cheap, kitschy movie more suited for Disney Channel than cinemas. 4. they gave the helm of a family adventure to

I think this will do okay, they need to focus less on Will Smith and more on the story. The visuals have been spectacular.

DeleteThe only poster I like is the one in the middle, with the flying carpet.
ReplyDeleteThe actor playing Aladdin seems to lack any charisma, so the attention goes to Jasmine, the princess. She looks good and nicely clothed.
This musical fantasy is actually a remake of the 1992 version. I usually find remakes as quite pointless.
That's the Asian one!
DeleteI think the whole movie looks too much like a Bollywood film, especially the costumes.
I think it will be a huge letdown, for all the reasons you mentioned. I do have a standing date to see it with my girlfriends though, so even if it sucks, at least I’ll have spent the time with my friends.... so not a complete waste.

DeleteShe's fallen into the "I'm too cool for kid movies" phase like Mariah and Allison. Thank God for girlfriends who never outgrew Disney though lol
