  2. I like your expression about The Lion King - "the movie will start roaring.."
How very, very cute Simba looks!

The movie based on Pushkin's fairy tale poem, sounds delightfully magical, with its russian settings and characters.

    1. isn't he the cutest, they totally copied the movements of a real little cub down to the point!
Hope they will do Ruslan and Ludmila more like epic fairy tale less like comical adventure, but I think they will go for the second as they want to cater for the Western audience as well. The first sign is that Ludmila, who appears in the tale only shortly, will be the dominant feminist heroine in this one.

  3. Urgh! I'll be in either Honduras or Cuba when Lion King is released. I have been dying to see it, but I guess I'll have to catch it a week after everyone else *wahhh!*

    1. what a casual way she finds to accidentally slip she'll be vacaying in Honduras :) I vote for Cuba, dear, you could find treatments for your ailments there! Their doctors are not controlled by big pharma which means they treat cancer and other diseases more efficiently.

    2. We're going to both, actually. Jason decided he wasn't driving anywhere this year and didn't want to take long flights, so he booked a cruise. I just can't remember the schedule, but I know Lion King release falls the week we'll be gone. We're only going to be in Cuba for 36 hours, so I don't think I'll be having any time to talk to pharmacists or doctors while there. Travel between Cuba and US has so many restrictions on what we can bring back with us. There are sooo many rules and regulations for Americans, I am feeling really stressed about that portion of our trip, though I have been wanting to go ever since the US lifted the travel ban between the countries.

    3. are the gurls going too, or just the two of you lovebirds? What on Earth is there to see in Honduras? I always say I will run away to Honduras and open a banana plantation there when I get fed up with everything :) I'm hoping for a romance with one of their plantation lords as well....

    4. Yes, the girls are going too, though Allison is pissed because she wanted to go to Japan instead (totally out of the budget this year, and since Olympics will be there next year, we're aren't going then either). I don't know what's in Honduras, but it's one of the stops, so I guess we'll see. I think there are 2 stops in Mexico as well, Rotan and maybe Costa Maya, though don't quote me on that. I only care about Cuba at this point.

    1. there is nothing more beautiful than Russian fairy tales. It is sad that the world is dominated by Western ones, when Slavic folklore is thousand times more powerful, more imaginative and rich.
