We are kinda, sorta having a Keeley Hawes weekend here, celebrating the year in which currently leading British female star will be appearing in almost every other TV project to the delight of the fans! Today, a lovely new photo of her from BBC's new six part series SUMMER OF ROCKETS which, set in the tumultuous year of 1957, follows a Russian Jewish family living in Britain amid the fear and excitement of the nation’s first Hydrogen Bomb test. The cast also includes Toby Stephens, Timothy Spall (as lord Arthur Wallington), Linus Roache (who plays an MP, the husband of Keeley's character)! Toby
The new series should start sometime this spring, probably between Keeley's new series Traitors and the final season of her The Durrells series.
Stephens leads the cast as Samuel, a 40-year-old Russian Jewish émigré, inventor and designer of hearing aids whose clients include the former
Toby Stephens plays the lead role of an inventor and MI5 spy
Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill. He is approached by MI5 to demonstrate his work but they actually want him to spy on his new friends
The story of the new series is set at the end of the 1950s!
played by Keeley and Linus. Stay tuned, as tomorrow the spy is bringing you a spotlight on Keeley's new series Traitors.

  1. I suspect that this is something that will eventually show up on PBS in the US. I'll likely miss it unless I see that it is on and record it on my DVR. "Hydrogen bomb" piques my interest.

  2. It has good 'ingredients": the cold war period, Britain's testing of its first bomb. a russian jew inventor, MI5.
    And, the 'raisin' on top of it - Toby Stephens with his magnetic presence.
    Definitely worth seeing the series!
