  1. Hasn't Henry VIII been milked to death YET?

    1. they can milk it as much as they want if they give us a Henry looking like that!

    2. This is about Katherine of Aragon, Henry's first wife and it's about HER life. They don't tell her story ever. It's always about Anne Boleyn, the second wife. Katherine of Aragon has a great story and she spent over twenty years with Henry and they were in love. It's time someone told her story with her being featured as the main character.

    3. true, even though she was a much more interesting queen than that hussy Boleyn. Maria Doyle Kennedy gave such a marvellous potrayal of Katherine in The Tudors.

    1. it is my expert opinion, both as the world's leading epic programmes expert and a fashion icon :))), that White Princess had the best costumes we've ever seen on the telly, and obviously this one will have them too! I'm in love with their production designer!

  3. I like the costumes. As for the beautiful black lady-in-waiting, I've learnt from the Wikipedia that african moors were considered luxury servants and that the spanish princess brought some with her to London.

    1. yes, they are using that fact massively in the promo campaign as it is now very fashionable to put people of colour in all possible programmes, even the ones like this. BBCs Les Miserables has both black and hindi people in the cast.

  4. I am not getting your posts for some reason. I had to search you out! I just found out that Discovery Of Witches is on AMC here and I missed the whole season! Today might be a binge watch day...if it’s good!

    1. I never get yours because something broke when you switched your place from blog to website :)
I thought Witches were visually very beautiful, gorgeous art production, with painfully bad, almost offensively horrible lead actress. Ladies loved the show, though, so you probably will too.

  5. The middle lady, her dress reminds me of vintage lampshades that you'd find tacked up in pizza parlors and bars back in the 80's, kind of like this one https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fpushassist.info%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2018%2F04%2Fstained-glass-hanging-lamp-vintage-stained-glass-hanging-lamp-stained-glass-hanging-lamp-full-image-for-vintage-leaded-glass-shade-antique-stained-glass-ceiling-light-fixtures.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fpushassist.info%2Fstained-glass-hanging-lamp%2F&docid=RZprs3LUqeT0GM&tbnid=QY2WNTuNQQ2sOM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwiqjO3Mv4_gAhVDw4MKHaNDA8IQMwjMASgcMBw..i&w=640&h=426&client=firefox-b-1&bih=722&biw=1536&q=80%27s%20glass%20lampshade&ved=0ahUKEwiqjO3Mv4_gAhVDw4MKHaNDA8IQMwjMASgcMBw&iact=mrc&uact=8

    1. the Spaniards had a visibly very different fashion style than the rest of Europe, even in architecture and music. Their history always scared me as it was always vile and lethal and morbidly dark, not to mention bizarrely religious.
