Kate Winslet will topline Ammonite drama
In casting news, Francis Lee, whose outstandingly brilliant God's Own Country is one of the best movies we've seen this decade and more, has just cast Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan for his new period set drama AMMONITE!

With the shooting planned to start next March, the movie, set in a UK coastal town in the 1840s, will have its story following the unlikely romance between palaeontologist Mary Anning and a London woman of means to whom she must unexpectedly play nursemaid. The film comes from the King's Speech and Lady Macbeth producers!

  2. Two beautiful, talented actresses, a great director ,and an intriguing plot. Well, it seems the drama "Ammonite" of a romance between a fossil hunter woman and a rich ailing woman is a must see.

    1. it will be a LGBT tentpole movie, methinks! There was a very good Israeli gay movie this year, Cakeshop or something like that, about a man who, after his gay lover dies, goes to work in his widow's cakeshop. I must watch that one.
