the fifth and the final season will look like next year! They have also announced our dearest 300, Royals and White Princess star
Vincent Regan, Lily Dodsworth Evans, Kerri McLean, Peter Sullivan, Freddie Wise and
Sofia Oxenham as the new cast members who will join
Aidan Turner in the series finale which starts filming this week. Although there is a ten year gap between the seventh novel (the last one covered so far on the telly) of
Winston Graham's saga on which the series is based, and the eight one, the writer of the show will still cover the lives of the Poldarks, George Warleggan, the Enyses, and the Carnes in this intervening period, which means the actors won't have

to look so much older. As you know, the series follows captain Ross Poldark after he returns to his father's estate in England from the American War for Independence.
IN POLDARK SEASON FIVE
it is a new century and with it comes
the promise of a hopeful future, but the past casts a long shadow over

It's probably much easier if they don't have to age the characters. I'll probably start on this one next spring.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun while it lasted, it had just eight episodes per season so it does not really feel like a five year saga.
DeleteI've heard of Poldark, but I have no idea when it comes on. I probably don't need to get caught up in another TV show. I probably would be better off just avoiding TV for awhile, but I guess I'm addicted.

DeleteOn a scale of 1 to 10, how much would you rate Poldark?
ReplyDeleteAbout seven, methinks, due to too much repetitiveness in the writing and among the characters, a tad bit boring costume design and a few insignificant characters that get too much space. But it is a series that is easy to get used to and I've always liked the old-school style of production, we don't have a lot of such shows on the telly these days. I'd probably put more humour in it and happiness, but I'm guessing the novels were not written like that. BBC will definitely have a massive gap after it ends, especially since most of their historical shows in recent two or three years were forgettable disappointments.
