   'DESIGNING WOMEN'
SITCOM GETTING A REBOOT!
The reboot will be a reimagination, methinks
The latest classic sitcom to get a reboot is DESIGNING WOMEN which finished airing almost 30 years ago! Airing for seven years at CBS (often next to Murphy Brown) it followed the lives of four women and a man working together at an Atlanta interior design firm! Sitcom's original creator is back, but it isn't known if any of the original cast (Jean Smart, Annie Potts, Delta Burke) will be back!

In the trailer department, you can check out the first trailer for new comedy WHAT MEN WANT with Taraji P. Henson!  When Ali is passed up for a well deserved promotion, she questions what else she needs to do to succeed in a man’s world… until she gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts. With her newfound power, Ali looks to outsmart her colleagues as she races to sign the next basketball superstar, but the lengths she has to go to will put her relationship with her best friends and a potential new love interest to the test.

  1. "Designing Women" had its virtues -- and its faults. I'd watch a reboot just to see new actors in the classic roles.

    1. Yes, I remember that I loved it, but that it did not always have good stories. It did have likeable characters, especially Maxine, or what was her name.... It was the only thing, I recall, that could put a smile on my face before going to school each day (we went in afternoon shifts, and the show was on in the mornings).

  2. That's good news - a reboot of a popular, enjoyable sitcom centered on four smart, beautiful women designers.
Women are always relevant; the series was relevant then, and it's equally relevant now, in the 21st century.

The adventurous couple in "The Astronauts", with their hot air baloon expedition, won't leave us indifferent.

    1. It was one of the first, let us say, feminist programmes on the telly in that decade. Not that they were hardcore feminists or something, but in the way that they had working women leading their business themselves.

  3. I recall catching a few episodes of Designing Women. It was one that my mom frequently watched.

I liked the Mel Gibson movie What Women Want, so I hope What Men Want is a lot along those lines.
