BBC AND HBO REVEAL FULL CAST FOR THEIR PERIOD SET LESBIAN FEMINIST MINI SERIES 'GENTLEMAN JACK' WITH SURRANE JONES, SOPHIE RUNDLE, JOE ARMSTRONG

 BBC'S 'GENTLEMAN JACK'
MINI SERIES REVEALS FULL CAST
Surrane Jones will be the Gentleman Jack!
Something lesbiefriendly today, spylings! BBC has revealed the whole cast for their period set mini series GENTLEMAN JACK (previously known as Shibden Hall) which will celebrate 19th century feminism led by Surrane Jones! Can't say I'm overly optimistic given the fact the eight episode series has been written by Sally Wainwright who gave us the borderline unwatchable and mind numbingly uninspired To Walk Invisible, but we shall give it the benefit of the doubt. The series will air on HBO in USA.

  GENTLEMAN JACK
Sophie Rundle will play Lister's love interest!
will be set in 1832 Halifax, West Yorkshire, revolving around landowner Anne Lister (Surrane Jones) and her determination to transform the fate of her faded ancestral home, Shibden Hall, by reopening the coal mines and marrying well. But  charismatic, single minded, swashbuckling Anne Lister - who dressed head to foot in black and charmed her way into high society - has no intention of marrying a man. True to her own nature, she plans to marry a woman. And not just any woman: the woman Anne Lister marries must be seriously wealthy. Every part of Anne’s story was recorded in her diaries that contain the most intimate details of her life, once hidden in a secret code that is now broken. The story examines Anne’s relationships at home with her family, servants, tenants and industrial rivals and, most importantly, would-be wife.

WHO WILL VISIT SHIBDEN HALL?
Jamestown's  Sophie Rundle will play Ann Walker, the wealthy heiress on whom Anne Lister sets her sights to marry; Gemma Whelan will portray Anne Lister’s sister, Marian! Timothy West is the sisters’ father, Jeremy Lister, and Gemma Jones plays Aunt Anne Lister. Stephanie Cole stars as
Joe Armstrong and Thomas Howes will lead the male part of the cast
Ann Walker’s aunt; Peter Davison as William Priestley, Ann Walker’s cousin; Amelia Bullmore as Eliza Priestley, his wife; Vincent Franklin as Christopher Rawson, businessman and fierce rival to Anne Lister, Shaun Dooley as his  brother and business partner;  with Joe Armstrong, Jodhi May, Rosie Cavaliero, Thomas Howes, Jessica Baglow and newcomers Albane Courtois and Ben Hunter also in the cast!

  2. We will look forward to it on HBO. Hopefully the writing isn't terrible. We'll give it a few episodes before making a decision though.

    1. indeed, I'm just surprised it will have eight episodes, BBC makes everything in three episodes lately, The Woman in White that they're currently airing has been dreadfully bad so far :( Troy as well, I'm losing faith in the proud Albion...

  3. Hmmm. Gentleman Jack doesn't interest me much. I hope though, that the writing in this series is better than To Walk Invisible.

    1. And The Woman In White too! That one is airing right now and is as boring as a bottle of yoghurt
