MELISSA MCCARTHY IS UNRECOGNISABLE IN BRILLIANT 'CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME?' TRAILER AND POSTER

  'CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME?'
HER GREATEST WORK, WILL BE HER BIGGEST CRIME!
The movie is out this October at awards time
I just have one trailer for you today, but it is really good! You probably won't recognize Melissa McCarthy in the first trailer for CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME? which is out this October based on a true story as revealed in American forger's Lee Israel's biography.

CAN YOU FORGIVE ME? is the true story of best selling celebrity biographer (and friend to cats) Lee Israel (Melissa McCarthy), who made her living in the 1970s and '80s profiling the likes of Katherine Hepburn, Tallulah Bankhead, Estee Lauder and journalist Dorothy Kilgallen. When Lee is no longer able to get published
Richard E. Grant plays the supporting role in the movie
because she has fallen out of step with current tastes, she turns her art form to deception (by stealing actual letters and papers from archives and libraries,
She forged hundreds of dead authors' letters before she got caught
replacing them with her forgeries) abetted by her loyal friend Jack (Richard E. Grant). She later on served a six month house arrest and  wrote her own memoir bragging about her criminal deeds.

  1. It's nice to see Melissa in a role that doesn't make her look like the queen of trailer trash. I'll be looking forward to seeing this one.

    1. I'd love to see her more in serious roles. I was just remembering how she wasn't in that trailer trash and body humour style of acting until the third or fourth season of Mike And Molly. That is when she became a movie star too and they decided to change her character too and turn her into slob who does a lot of body jokes and such things.

    2. We loved her as Sookie in Gilmore Girls, so I was highly disappointed when she started with the trash roles. I hope this is the start of her going back to the more serious roles.

    3. it will be interesting to see if she gets an Oscar nom for this, Oscar seems to like to celebrate crooks and fakers, this year with Tonya, now with this...

    1. I wonder if she looks like this without make up or did they put movie make up on her to look like this.

  3. Strong title. 'Forgive' is a powerful word and so is the action or process of forgiving.

  4. May she continue to pick her movies more wisely.
