What 16 episode? First season had 8 eps, the second one has also 8, or seven since the first one is a double one :( These epic series never had more than 10 eps since they're expensive to make and produce, even CW's REIGN used to have just about 16 or 18 per season. And Turkish epic sagas have 40 two and a half hour episodes per season and look ten times more lavish than the English ones LOL Admittedly, their actors are often on strike as they can't handle so much work every day, not that the producers care much :) Some of them do get up to 20 or even 40 thousand euro per episode, I'd work all day long for such monies without complaining :)
Nope, it is two separate seasons, but they are airing the second one a bit sooner than usual, I think it has been only about eight months in between. Sky wants to use the attention they got with Britannia and launch Jamestown too. I'm not really liking Britannia, so far, it is rather trashy and ugly, but I will stick to the end. I also tried ALTERED CARBON last night, and although the first episode was semisnoozeworthy, Joel Kinnaman was outstanding, haven't been so captivated by someone's performance in a long time, he has the most perfect facial expressions and eye movements.
One of Britain's four most popular channels . you have BBC, ITV (it was called Granada decades ago), Channel 4 and Sky One. Sky used to air mostly US series, but now they're venturing into making their own. I think their US version is Sky Atlantic but I'm not sure.

8 episodes sounds so cheap. So is this only a 16 episode season? Remember when we would get 24 episodes a year?

DeleteThere are so many series I wouldn't know where to start. Oh the horror.
DeleteI thought they split the season into 2 parts. What a bummer knowing it's only 8 episodes :(

DeleteWhat is Sky One? I haven't heard that, or the series.
