WARNER BROS TITLES ITS JUNGLE BOOK MOVIE 'MOWGLI' CHRISTIAN BALE, CATE BLANCHETT, JACK REYNOR, TOM HOLLANDER, ANDY SERKIS IN THE VOICE CAST

WARNER'S 'JUNGLE BOOK'
IS NOW CALLED JUST 'MOWGLI'!
Blanchett will probably be better as Kaa than Scarlet Johannson
In order to avoid confusion with Disney's recent movie of the same name, Warner Bros' Jungle Book movie has been retitled MOWGLI! Andy Serkis is still directing with an October 2018  release date.

THE PLOT
has also been revealed: mixing live action and performance capture, the story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli (Rohan Chand) raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often-harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo (Andy Serkis) and a panther named Bagheera
Andy Serkis is both directing and lending his voice to Baloo
(Christian Bale), Mowgli becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own. All but one: the fearsome tiger Shere Khan (Benedict Cumberbatch). But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins. The other story's central
Young Jack Reynor is lending his voice to Mowgli's wolf brother
animal characters are: Kaa, the snake (Cate Blanchett), the leader of the wolf pack, Akela (Peter Mullan), the scavenging hyena, Tabaqui (Tom Hollander), Nisha, the female wolf (Naomie Harris), who adopts the baby Mowgli as one of her cubs, Nisha's mate, Vihaan (Eddie Marsan), and Mowgli's Brother Wolf (Jack Reynor).

  1. It will be interesting to compare it to Disney's remake, which we saw and liked.

  2. Crazy that they are both coming out so close to each other. The cast looks really good and it will be interesting to watch them both and compare (still haven't seen the last Jungle Book). Thanks for sharing. :)

    1. it ain't so close as Warner has pushed this one two years away or even more, Disney was faster :)

  3. While this one may have a better cast, Disney's version was amazing. I think it will be really hard to top theirs. Even Jason sat through the whole thing and raved about how good it was. He usually falls asleep halfway through these types of movies.

    1. it was nice, I only hated the part with the giant gorilla, that one was a bit too violent and boring for me. I think I preferred Tarzan with Skarsgaard to Jungle Book, but I'm not sure anymore :)

    2. I fell asleep during Tarzan, but I tried watching it after an infusion. I need to give it another go sometime.

    4. I couldn't believe that even a shirtless Skarsgard couldn't keep me awake. Those are some powerful meds :(
