BBC'S 'THE MINIATURIST'
1ST PERIOD SET DRAMA PHOTOS
Meanwhile, Sky's rival BBC has unveiled first photos presenting the characters from their new three episode period set drama THE
MINIATURIST which will, I'm guessing, probably start airing in two weeks when Howards End finishes, so we can probably expect a trailer and more photos soon!

 BASED ON JESSIE BURTON BOOK
Set in 1686, it follows 18 year old Nella Oortman (Anya Taylor Joy) who knocks at the door of a grand house in the wealthiest quarter of Amsterdam.
Anya Taylor Joy is Nella Oortman
Full of hopes and dreams, she has come from the country to begin a new life as the wife of wealthy merchant, Johannes (Alex Hassell) Brandt. But instead
Alex Hassell is Johannes in the series
of Johannes, she’s met by his cold sister Marin (Romola Garai) and quickly realises that nothing is as it seems in the Brandt household. When Johannes
Romola Garai and Anya Taylor Joy
finally appears he presents her with an extraordinary wedding gift: a doll’s house replica of their home. It is to be furnished by an elusive miniaturist,
The series will probably start airing in December
whose tiny creations mirror what is happening within the house in unexpected ways and seem to be predicting and unravelling the future with unsettling accuracy.

  1. If it's any good, "Britannia" could be the new "Vikings"

    1. probably not, since it is on Sky, at least if we're talking viewership, but qualityvise it will probably be better since Vikings were so unwatchable

  2. Britannia will be good for that first of the year viewing slump we always seem to get into. Nothing ever good is on the first of the year.

    1. UK often starts airing new series then, so I'm hoping it will this year again, although BBC has left me disappointed a lot this year.

  3. The makeup job on Kera makes it look like her mascara is running down her face. What were they thinking? ;)
