EPIC THURSDAY: 1ST POSTER FOR 'SAMSON' EPIC ADVENTURE WITH TAYLOR JAMES, BILLY ZANE, RUTGER HAUER! PARAMOUNT TO TURN 'THE BLACK VIKING' NOVEL INTO TV SERIES

  'SAMSON' MOVIE POSTER
WITH TAYLOR JAMES, BILLY ZANE
Samson will get a haircut for next Valentines!
Here's a project that has been out of our radar but it is supposed to hit the big screens next February! The latest movie version of famous legend on SAMSON in which the hero is played by Taylor James with Jackson Rathbone, Rutger Hauer, Billy Zane also in the cast alongside Caitlin Leahy who plays Delilah! After his youthful ambition leads to a tragic marriage, Samson's acts of revenge thrust him into direct conflict with the Philistine army. As his brother mounts a tribal rebellion, only Samson's relationship with a Philistine temptress and his final surrender - both to the Philistines and to God - turns imprisonment and blindness into final victory.

  'THE BLACK VIKING'
  TO BECOME EPIC TV SERIES
The book is currently being sold at Frankfurt Book Fair
Speaking of the news from the epic front, 'Deadline' reports today that Paramount TV and Anonymous Content have bought  the rights to 2013 novel THE BLACK VIKING by Icelandic author Bergsveinn Birgisson which they want to turn into television series directed and produced by Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game, Passengers)! The author himself has led a search for traces of his forefather Geirmund Heljarskinn, one of the most powerful Viking kings in history whose saga has mysteriously disappeared. If I got it right, he got the name BLACK VIKING because he was black when he was born and was such an ugly baby that his mother, a 9th century queen, gave him away to be raised far from her.

  3. His mom sounds like she's the hideous one, sending her baby away because of his looks. Hope he came back and poked her in the eye.

    1. but he was like a baby freak, deary, they probably sent him to some convent to be raised by monks :) He did return later on because his colour disappeared in time. At least that is what I've gathered with my modest knowledge of Nordic language since this book hasn't been translated into English yet.

    2. As a mother, I couldn't imagine carrying a child for 9 months only to give it away because it looked freakish. I stand by my eye poking comment lol

    3. I'm guessing motherhood wasn't the same back in dark mediaeval times :)

    4. Well, my Momma sent me away, too. "Go away," she said. "You're too pretty!" And then I woke up, of course, but that's beside the point. She still said it.

  4. Viking movies are allways welcome on my TV.
I hope that maybe in my lifetime I will see a Volsunga Saga series too...
Thats such a great epic-mythological story, that I am surprized that nobody made a great series about it.
But I hope that it will be not a politically correct shit as the Beowulf series was...

    1. Beowulf was so cheap looking, even though it had a rather lovely cast. I do prefer politically correct ones to torture porn and grimfest :)
