Two trailers for you today, both kinda bland to me, but you might find them interesting yourself?
The first one is for THE LAST FACE out next year in which Charlize
Theron plays a director of an international aid agency in Africa who
meets a relief aid doctor (Javier Bardem) amidst a political and social
revolution, and together face tough choices surrounding humanitarianism
and life through civil unrest. Jared Harris and Jean Reno also star in
the movie directed by Theron's ex lover Sean Penn.
'SILENCE' TRAILER
SET IN FEUDAL JAPAN
Martin Scorsese has revealed the first trailer for his new epic drama movie SILENCE which opens in cinemas this Christmas with Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver (both looking worst than ever) playing two Portuguese Jesuit priests who travel to a country hostile to their religion, where feudal lords force the faithful to publicly renounce their beliefs. Eventually captured and forced to watch their Japanese Christian brothers lay down their lives for their faith, the priests bear witness to unimaginable cruelties that test their own beliefs. Liam Neeson plays their mentor with Ciaran Hinds and Tadanobu Asano also starring!

Actually, "Silence" looks pretty good to me, if it explores the follies, flaws and fallacies of Christian supremacist practice through evangelism. And with a Scorsese film, it might just be brave enough to go there.
ReplyDeleteyes, I've noticed that many people liked it, I just don't see why, to me it just looked bad, uninspired and overrated as anything else that Scorsese does. And such a horrible cast in it too.

ReplyDeleteit is so very unusual, at first it is weird and than when the fantasy elements begin in the second part of the trailer you're just wow wow wow :)
DeleteYes! I don't think I've seen a trailer that has gotten me so pumped for a show quite like this one has. Even Wonder Woman takes a back seat here, and you know I am way excited for that one!
Deletemy publisher just got a new book on young Wonder Woman. There is a whole series coming up in which popular YA writers will all write a book on the youth of a superhero each. That man that did SIX OF CROWS wrote Wonder Woman, the first one in the series, and then Marie Lu is doing Batman, there will be Superman and Catwoman too.
