PREMIUM SPOTLIGHT ON 'SING' ANIMATED MUSICAL WITH MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY, REESE WITHERSPOON, SCARLETT JOHANSSON

NEW 'SING' POSTERS
FOR THE ANIMATED MUSICAL!
What do you do when Hollywood Spy reaches 5 million visitors? I guess you SING like all these adorable animals are doing in the new animated movie we're spotlighting today with the new character posters! Coming from Illumination Entertainment it will bring music to cinemas this December featuring more than 85 classic pop tracks from famous artists!

SING YOUR TAIL OUT!
In a world populated by anthropomorphic animals, a koala named Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) works to keep his theatre from closing down. To this end, Buster and his sheep friend Eddie (John C. Reilly) hold a singing contest to raise money, and the entire town auditions for a part in the show. The leading five are an overworked pig named Rosita (Reese Witherspoon) with her pig partner named Gunter (Nick Kroll), an arrogant and gambling white mouse named Mike (Seth MacFarlane), a punk rock porcupine named Ash (Scarlett Johansson), a timid teenage elephant named Meena (Tori Kelly), and a British gorilla named Johnny (Taron Egerton), who wants to sing instead of following his family's criminal footsteps.
STELLAR VOICE CAST
The exquisitely stellar voice cast includes Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an optimistic koala, who plans to save his theatre from closure by holding a singing competition; Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, a domestic pig, who gave up her teenage music dreams to become a devoted wife of Norman, and mother to 25 piglets; Seth MacFarlane as Mike, a white jazz mouse with a big Frank Sinatra-esque voice and an arrogant attitude; Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a crested porcupine punk rocker who takes part in an alternative rock music group with her boyfriend; John C. Reilly as Eddie, a Suffolk sheep, and Buster's partner that doubts the future of the theatre; Tori Kelly as Meena, a teenage Indian elephant with an exquisite voice, and severe stage fright; Taron Egerton as Johnny, an English accented mountain gorilla, who wants to sing, but his father wants him to follow his family’s criminal footsteps; Nick Kroll as Gunter, Rosita's German accented, very optimistic and bubbly dance partner; Nick Offerman as Norman, a domestic pig and Rosita's oblivious husband; Garth Jennings as Miss Crawl, an elderly green iguana who is Buster's assistant and offers Johnny piano lessons; Jennifer Saunders as Miss Nana Noodleman! Rea Perlman also lends her voice to one of the characters in the hilarious animated movie!

  3. I saw a few commercials for this one already but I'm not sure it struck me. I never dug into the 'singing competition' shows, so I'm not sure it would appeal. *shrug*

    1. they don't have anyone Irish in it :) In good news, there's no Simon Cowell in it either... he could represent rats, though

  6. Congrats Dez, you deserve it. Sing will hopefully be a really good movie. The voices are amazing so far. Illumination has been doing really well. The Secret Life of Pets that came out in the summer is now close to potentially beating Batman v Superman on the top ten movies of the year.

If it does then it will get the #5 slot and be the first non-Disney movie this year to top it. I love Batman but this DCEU version though dark and brooding (a bit too on the last part), did not combine with a very good movie. And Fantastic Beasts being released on the same date practically everywhere does not raise my faith in WB. I'll wait for the reviews to come in thank you very much.

  7. This is certainly a departure from the period series. I'm wondering how Witherspoon will sound as Rosita. My goodness.

    1. We don't always do just period series :) We DO focus on history and fantasy, but we also cover romance, comedy etc... with a big ban here on superheroes, horror, crime and extreme gore
