SF MONDAY: IS KELLAN LUTZ HE-MAN IN 'MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE'? 'DARK MATTER' SF SERIES SEASON 2 TRAILER AND PHOTOS

IS KELLAN LUTZ
THE NEW HE-MAN?
We're again going sf, people, not that you will mind, right? The hottest gossip this boring beginning of the week says that last year's Hercules Kellan Lutz has met with director McG to talk about the lead role in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE which means he is the first candidate for He-Man the Prince Adam of Eternia. The movie is currently in the stage of the script being written, but as you know the story involves intergalactic fights, travels, powerful villains, sorceresses and talking tigers. What do you think will they do it child friendly, a bit like NINJA TURTLES, or will be it a space opera of large epic scale?

'DARK MATTER' SF SERIES
RETURNS THIS WEEK!
In the dead season of TV summer, one of the things that actually gave us some fun last year was SyFy's DARK MATTER show which is returning for the second season this Friday, July 1st! Are you excited? It wasn't the best of shows, but it was rather fun to watch and entertaining in an unassuming way.  It will again follow the ragtag crew of the spaceship Raza, who started off the last series with no memory of who they were or how they came to be on the ship, which now gets involved in an intergalactic conspiracy, as they search for a device that could prove vital in the upcoming war.
NEW RAZA CREW
The old cast returns lead by Marc Bendavid, Melissa O'Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari Jr., Jodelle Ferland, Roger Cross and Zoie Palmer as the ship's wise android. Melanie Liburd has joined the cast as a new member of the Raza crew, which will also include Shaun Sipos as Devon, a once world class surgeon, who is haunted by a dark past that may pose a danger to himself and his fellow crew members. Meanwhile, Franka Potente will be playing calculated Commander Shaddick, Chief Inspector of the Galactic Authority Serious Crimes Division. Ellen Wong will guest star as Misaki Han Shireikan the Commander of the Imperial Royal Guard of Ishida!

  1. I was such a nerdy child, He-Man was my favorite movie. Looking back now, it was such a crap movie, but oh, how I loved it. I'll definitely have to catch this re-boot, especially with sexy Kellan set to star. Mmm hmm!

    1. I liked it too, Sorceress Zoar was my absolute fave :) I had hers and He Man's and the tiger's figurine too, the only toys I've ever had on my own :)

    2. I didn't have a whole lot of toys either, but I remember for my 5th or 6th birthday my mom bought me the She-Rah castle and all the mini dolls. What a grand day that was! I eventually got He-Man and Skeletor figures at yard sales to go with the set, but never did have the tiger. I'd play with those dolls so quietly all day long, every single day, my mom actually drove all the way to the grocers one day before realizing she forgot me at home. I guess I never came out of my room once I got that set she started getting used to not having me around lol.

    3. Seems like we was very similar kids, I also always played somewhere quietly not bothering parents nor anyone else, not that they wished to be bothered LOL, too bad we didn't live close, we could've played with our Masters of the Universe figurines together :) Mine, of course, weren't original, but some crappy plastic versions from China, but poor kid never complains :)

    4. You and I would have been the grandest of friends, I'm sure.

You know, I can remember almost every toy I ever had as a kid. Today's kids are so flooded with gotta have this and gotta have that, and parents throwing every new invention their way, it's ridiculous. I admit, there have been times I have been guilty of doing the same with my girls, but the past few years we tell them money is for travel and experiences that will enrich their lives. I kind of like that I grew up poor because it made me really appreciate the little things in life that count. Not weighing our lives down with excessive amounts of junk.

    5. The grandest and the only one :) We didn't have any kids born in my street at least five or six before me and at least ten after me... so me was alone with my animal menagerie

It did make us appreciate things more, but don't feel guilty for buying things to your kids, because they only live once and why not give them all you can while you can, when they grow up in a few years they will face the harsh reality and adult life. I sometimes wish I had at least something nice in my childhood to remember now and hold onto, but I don't... it is great if you can give it to your kids because those will be the only carefree and truly happy moments of their lives.

    6. I think Mariah is realizing that right quick lately. She's paying for 1/2 her college starting next year and will be feeling the pinch then. Of course, we'll still help her with other necessities, but the fun's about to end for her.

I can picture little Dezzy and little Theresa riding around the neighborhood together. One one bike, because we're still dirt poor of course. One on the handle bars one on the seat :) How cruel the world is not bringing us together as kids :( I just had my sister and she was more interested in boys and growing up too fast. I just wanted to play dolls, ride bikes and explore the great outdoors. My next sibling came 7 years later, so I never had much in the way of playmates either.

    7. Poor Mariah, hope she at least has fun at the college! Is Shaggy going there with her or are they going different directions?

I didn't even have a bike, so you would have to put me in a cart and pull me behind you LOL I hear you with the siblings, the person who is supposed to be my brother hated me from the very start and was always ebil, so I didn't get any comfort or support there... as is still the case.. haven't spoken to him in like five or six years....

    8. Send your ebil brother to my ebil sister and hopefully they'll make each other extinct. I haven' talked to mine in 6 years and it feels so freeing not having her in my life.

Shaggy gets free college here in town since his dad works at Notre Dame. Lucky him because that is one expensive school! Mariah will probably be 3 hours away at a different college, but I'm sure they'll make it work. They sit around and Skype more than they see each other anyway, so it's not like much is going to change ;)

    9. I can totally imagine the freeing feeling! If only I could move away from mine....

Hehehe... and plus Skype is the best birth protection there ever was :)

  2. I never saw He-Man and don't really know what it is. What I do know is that Lutz is sexy.

Are you still having that dreadful heatwave. We've been at 40 for the last two days, but that is to end tomorrow.

    1. It is about prince Adam of the planet of Eternia who with his friend, sorceress Zoar and Teela included fights against Ebil Skeletor who wants to take over the planet :) And he has mystic power that turns him into He=Man a superstrong man.

We're just having a fresh wave tonight, a storm has passed through the country and it is currently raining here as well and the temp has gone down to 20*c! Methinks me will sleep lovely tonight :)

    2. There's nothing more conducive to a good night sleep than rain on a cool night. Hope your dreams are sweet dahlink!

    3. yes, that is why I said a few days ago that 30*C around midnight is hell, one cannot sleep at such temps. It is barely 20*C here today, last night's storm has brought us long needed refreshment. I see it was windy, since some of our plants are down and most of the apricots have fallen of the tree :) The cat is alive, though :)

How are your clovers, dear, did they finally manage to grow after all the storms?

    4. It was really chilly last night, which thrilled Jason. He actually turned the air off and opened the windows. Woke up so happy talking about how the cold always gives him the best night's sleep. I, on the other hand, hated it.

    5. sometimes I feel like me and Jason are lost twins :)

  3. I watched He-Man the cartoon growing up. I guess I shouldn't be surprised they are turning it into a movie with humans. :)
