KATE WINSLET JOINS IDRIS ELBA?
Now, here's an unusual pair: as 'The Hollywood Reporter' writes today, British Rose Kate Winslet is currently negotiating to join Idris Elba in the adventure survival big screen adaptation of Charles Martin's book THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US
The romantic drama tells of a woman, engaged to be married, and a
surgeon who charter a plane to get them home after inclement weather
delays their flight. When the plane crashes in a snowy wilderness, the
two must work together to survive.

Based on Bernard Cornwell's novels The Lords of the North and Sword
Song, and set in the year 878, the 2nd series returns as fearless and
instinctive warrior Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) continues his fight for his native land of Northumbria. Uhtred, having given his sword to King Alfred (David Dawson),
despite his upbringing by the invading pagan Danes, embarks on his
voyage north to reclaim his own fate: recapture his ancestral lands of
Bebbanburg.
Alfred’s conviction to create a united England is stronger than ever,
and he sets his sights on the wild lands of the north, which have fallen
into chaos and rebellion. It is a dangerous time for Saxon and Dane
alike, but Alfred champions a new king - a Christian Dane - to unite the
tribes. However, this king has been enslaved, and 
Uhtred becomes
embroiled in a rescue mission, which brings him face to face with an
enemy of old. Emily Cox, Ian Hart and Tobias Santelmann return again joined by new cast members Thure Lindhardt, Millie Brady, Peter McDonald and Richard Rankin.

DeleteDarn, I was hoping for some Last Kingdom this fall. It took me a while to get into the series, but by the last episode, I was hooked. I do think Uhtred is a prick though. Not a very likable guy for me, but I did like the first season.
ReplyDeletehe is a cocky one, not that you wouldn't forgive him :) Although I think Alfred is a bigger prick at least towards Uthrie, and that queen of his is such an ugly biatch... I swear
DeleteI think that was part of the problem with this show for me. I did not find any of the characters likeable, except for maybe his wife. The one he left for the other hussy. Yes, the queen is so darned ugly! I almost feel sorry that Alfred has to sleep next to that each night. Yikes!

Queen or not, you don't go gallivanting off with a married man. And, she was responsible for the death of the other wife's baby. She deserved what she got in the end. Too bad Uhtred didn't have his balls handed to him in the end, too.
DeleteYes, but she did not know that baby would die, she had to do it to save the heir to the throne. She was ever so sad about it laters... I kinda hated Uthred's pompous wify, so we won't agree on this :)))
DeleteI imagine there will be plenty more women in this series that we will come to dislike. None so much as that super ugly queen though, I'm sure.
