'BEN HUR' EPIC TRAILER
IS HERE WITH JACK HUSTON!
Now, here's something I've been wondering for a long time when it would finally arrive! First photos and trailer for this August biggest epic adventure BEN HUR with Jack Huston and Morgan Freeman!

It follows Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), a Roman army officer. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but
finds redemption! Morgan Freeman plays his mentor, while Rodrigo Santoro
is Jesus Christ! The story of Jesus Christ is told parallel to the one
revolving around BEN HUR! As you can see from the first poster,
the
movie, based on Lew Wallace's classic novel and directed by Timur Bekmambetov, will include the glorious chariot races in the arena! What do you think? I personally think the movie is terribly miscast with zero star power in it!

ReplyDeleteApart from Morgan Freeman, I haven't heard of any of these actors. But who knows -- if the movie is a smash hit, maybe it will make them all stars!
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt it will be a smash hit, Debs, especially not in August the cemetery of bad summer movies :) Especially with Kebbell who has zero star power and as the trailer shows, zero acting talent too :) Jack Huston ain't a bad actor, though, loved him in GREAT FIRE series, but he has zero charisma for leading roles. To think Hiddles was supposed to star here.....

DeleteDon't think this will be a good remake. Not sure if Charlton Heston was a big name when he filmed Ben Hur, but I don't think this one will compare at all. I won't be watching because the chariot race looks to violent for the horses. Have a safe trip to the capital city.

DeleteI always wondered why Ben Hur was shown around Easter. Now it makes sense. (Yeah, I've never seen either the big epic or the original silent.)

I cannot imagine why we need a remake of this movie. This film will always be associated with Charlton Heston and it was an epic film. Enough said...

DeleteWe don't need another remake. Robocop, Oz, The Thing (wtf??), Point Break (really??), Spiderman (again and again and again) and Ghostbusters: The Search For More Money And We Give You Chicks have caused enough damage the way it is.

DeleteWell, I do love Morgan Freeman, as do many, so that may be the only redeeming point to this film. However, the trailer failed to really pique my interest, so it's highly doubtful I'll spend time on watching this one.
