ANNABELLE WALLIS TO JOIN TOM CRUISE IN 'THE MUMMY' REBOOT! AMANDA SEYFRIED & CLIVE OWEN IN ANDREW NICCOL'S SF THRILLER 'ANON'! LUKE ALLEN GALE TO LEAD 'TRANSYLVANIA' EPIC TV SERIES

ANNABELLE WALLIS
TO JOIN TOM CRUISE IN 'THE MUMMY' MOVIE REBOOT
Another reboot that will plague us some time in the future, the remake of the most popular adventure saga ever THE MUMMY, this time with Tom Cruise in the lead role, has just got itself the female lead: gorgeous Annabelle Wallis from THE TUDORS (although she played the queen in it, in next year's KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE: KING ARTHUR she will be just a maid) and PEAKY BLINDERS will take lead female role in the modern day set movie. Sofia Boutella was announced previously for the title role of the monster. Cruise will play an ex soldier, while Annabelle will be, according to 'Variety' an archaeologist! Alex Kurtzman is helming the second movie in Universal's Monsters series, started by Luke Evans' DRACULA UNTOLD. Johnny Depp has already been announced as the lead in THE INVISIBLE MAN movie, while VAN HELSING and THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN are also in plan.

AMANDA SEYFRIED JOINS
CLIVE OWEN IN SF 'ANON'
Since it seems we're having a blond beauty day, 'Deadline' reports that Amanda Seyfried will work with sf director Andrew Niccol again after Justin Timberlake's IN TIME a few years ago. She has boarded ANON, a sf thriller in which Clive Owen plays a detective in a world with no privacy, ignorance or anonymity. All our lives are transparent, traceable and recorded by the authorities. It’s the end of crime, it seems. However, when Owen’s character stumbles on a young woman (Amanda Seyfried) with no digital footprint and invisible to the police, he discovers it may not be the end of crime but the beginning. Owen is also shooting Luc Besson's sf epic VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS.

LUKE ALLEN GALE TO LEAD
 'TRANSYLVANIA' EPIC TV SERIES
Earlier last week I reported that Australian actress Laura Brent has been cast as female lead in CW's upcoming new epic TV series TRANSYLVANIA and now 'Deadline' writes that DOMINION's Luke Allen Gale will take the male lead. Canadian actor Evan Stern has also been cast.
TRANSYL- VANIA is set in 1880 and centres on Victoria (Brent), a headstrong young woman in search of her missing father who ventures from NYC to Transylvania where she teams with a wrongfully disgraced Scotland Yard Detective, Inspector Godfrey (Allen Gale), and together they witness the births of the most famous monsters and villains in history. Stern will play Igor, a gentle hunchback known for his technical genius.

  1. Not to sure what to think of Tom Cruise in the reboot of The Mummy. Johnny Depp in THE INVISIBLE MAN should be interesting.

    1. I agree!! But I won't be watching the mummy. Tom Cruise irks me. The original would be real hard to top anyways.

  4. Excited to see Tom Cruise in The Mummy. Please be good. The original was amazing. Hopefully Clive Own headlines a winner in this. He's such a great actor with my fave movies being Children of Men and Shoot 'em Up.

    1. I think there is no way it could be better than the original, especially with Cruise in the lead role :) But it will bring them money for sure

  5. So, if I've never seen the original Mummy, do I have to see the remake? Please tell me no.

  6. Tom Cruise sucks. There aren't too many people in this world that I want to punch when I look at them, but Tom is on that very short list. I am sure The Mummy will suck, especially with him in the lead.

    3. I think he sees potential new bride in Rebecca Ferguson :) He always chooses them movie partners personally as potential personal brides ... to cover up the fact he is gay and in love with Beckham :)

    4. Can you blame him? I think everyone is in love with Beckham ;)

    5. I'm not :) I did like Posh and Becs as a young couple, and I like that their kids seem well behaved, but they're starting to push them everywhere, nepotism, and they're using that lil' daughter of theirs as a playing doll and a snobbish item

  7. I have never seen The Mummy, but I have seen Tom Cruise's new face. WHOA, he looks like he's been wrapped in bandages for a couple of weeks. Somehow I doubt it was for the part. Tehehe

    1. I think you'd enjoy THE MUMMY with Brendan Fraser immensely, Debs, it is the best movie ever in the genre of fun comedy adventures

    2. That's because Brendan is an amazing actor! We do love riding The Mummy at Universal Studios, where they use a few recordings of Brendan hosting through different parts of the ride. I can't imagine them changing it to icky old Tom!

    3. Brendan, Rachel Weisz, Arnold Wosloo, John Hannah, Oded Fehr, they were all so flawless in the movies! It is the best movie ever

  8. If I had any inclination at all to see THE MUMMY, it flew right out the window when I realized that Tom Cruise was in it.

  10. Enough with Dracula and the vampires! Dracula was not Transylvanian, he was a Wallachian ruler. so why every time tie him to Transylvania? If you want to know about the real Transylvania and its history, read this: http://mek.oszk.hu/03400/03407/html/
And if you read it, you will see that this peace of land and its turmolied history and fate deserves great historical series. Yes, I want a movie or a Tv series about the real Transylvania and not about the vampires, which have nothing to do with Transylvania!

    1. I feel your pain, Sylvain. That is the official plot from the CW network. The mess up probably comes from the fact both are parts of Romania.
But if I remember correctly Luke Evans' DRACULA UNTOLD was set in Wallachia, and I also think Dracula in DA VINCI'S DEMONS was also set there :) The funniest thing is that word 'vampire' didn't even come into English from Romanian language but from neighbouring Serbian to make the things even more puzzling :)
