SYFY REVEALS PROMO ART AND POSTERS FOR THEIR UPCOMING NEW EPIC SF SERIES 'VAN HELSING' AND 'WYNNONA EARP'

'VAN HELSING' TV SERIES
DR ABRAHAM'S DAUGHTER
Promo art coming to you today for two of SyFy's upcoming new series! Both shows are to air probably Autumn next year with castings for the first one yet to start. VAN HELSING is coming from Neil LaBute, with a female hero! It will be told from the point of view of Dr Abraham Van Helsing's daughter Vanessa Helsing, who is resurrected five years into the future after a long sleep in the world that has been overrun by vampires, leaving Vanessa Helsing as the last hope for humanity's survival.
AGAINST VAMPIRES
The 13 episodes will see her leading the Resistance across the Wasteland, in the former America, in search of the hole in the sky in Colorado because the uninterrupted sun there is as strong as the vampire's bite and they could harness its power to fight the vampires!  Along the way they will come across human fortresses and vampire strongholds - some friendly, most not.

'WYNONNA EARP' TV SERIES
WYATT'S GRANDDAUGHTER
The other one comes from the creators of KILLJOYS and it already has its cast! WYNONNA EARP will follow Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter Wynonna as she battles demons and other supernatural beings and uses her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice! Melanie Scrofano will play Wynonna, Tim Rozon is legendary con artist Doc Holliday, while Shamier Anderson is going to be the mysterious Agent Dolls.
AGAINST DEMONS
After years on the run and in juvenile detention, Wynonna Earp is finally returning home. The only problem is no one back home wants her to return. But when she becomes the town's only hope of eradicating mysterious demons, Wynonna must choose which side of the law she wants to fight on in order to clear the name of her legendary great grandfather Wyatt Earp once and for all.

  2. I really used to enjoy a good vampire story. Bram Stoker was brilliant and the Van Helsing character was good. But after all the silly teen vampire stories I'm vamp'd out. If this is aimed at adults and gives me something to think about I'll watch it.

    1. dahlink, ''give me something to think about'' and SyFy don't go in the same sentence :)))

And you missed Gerard in our post last night :) It was his 46th Birthday yesterday!

  3. I'm with Anne here. I am so over the vampires after those tween stories ruined it.

    1. and SyFy seems to think vampires will rule our future since DOMINION was also about the futuristic ruling vampires :) Not that our bastard politicians are sucking our blood already....

    2. Yes, those bastard politicians are all the vampires we can handle at the moment. Never saw Dominion, but you will be pleased to hear that Jason and I finally started Last Man Standing. Good stuff!

    3. oooh, glad to hear it, it is ever so lovely series! The only of the old school ones but yet still contemporary, educational, witty, loving and wonderfully written. I'm on season five now :)

    4. Tim Allen has always been a favorite of ours, so I knew we'd like it. We tend to wait for series to end before starting a new one, but we were bored last week and decided to start now. We only have 4 seasons on Netflix, so I probably won't get to season 5 until next fall when they put the new ones up.

    5. I have seasons 3 and 4 and 5 so far :) in my computer, I shall burn them and send them to you so that you don't have to pay for them at Netflix :) I don't have 1 and 2 because I watched those on our Fox Cable Channel years ago.

    6. Oh no, dahling, don't worry about it! I pay $7 a month for unlimited viewing at Netflix. It's not a pay per show kind of deal. That's how we catch up on all the old tv shows. We just wait until they hit Netflix and binge watch. Definitely worth $7 if you ask me!

    7. oh, well that is nice then! I probably wouldn't have the patience to wait, I watch them all a day later after the US premiere :)

    8. I can't stand to wait a week to see the next episode, that's why we wait for them to run their course, then binge watch. We'll get a whole series done in like 2 months. We thought The New Girl would have started back by now and were planning on watching those (we do watch that as it airs) through Christmas, but it's not aired this season yet. That's why we went ahead and did Last Man Standing, just to fill the void.

    9. 'tis lovely binge watching! I did that with BABY DADDY, did all three seasons in one summer and then watched the following ones as they aired :)

    10. You did that thing with BABY DADDY? I think I need more context. I hope I do....

    11. I wish I truly did it with baby daddy... and his brother... and their roommate too....

  4. If these heroines have all the angst of Lost Girl, it will be hard to watch. Worth checking out though.
