CHLOE MORETZ TO LEAD LIVE ACTION 'THE LITTLE MERMAID' MOVIE! FUNNY FIRST TRAILER FOR PATRICK STEWART'S FESTIVE 'CHRISTMAS EVE' MOVIE

'THE LITTLE MERMAID
CHLOE MORETZ TAKES THE LEAD
Remember how a few years ago I told you  that beside CINDERELLA, SNOW WHITE, ALICE, MALEFICENT and other tales, studios are also planning to do a live action version of THE LITTLE MERMAID? Well, they've finally moved from the spot by casting Chloe Moretz in the lead role! Universal has apparently hired Richard Curtis to pen the script for the movie which is still without a director after Sofia Copolla gave up on the project because, as rumours say, she didn't want a teen star in the cast!
As you know the story follows LITTLE MERMAID who falls in love with a human prince whom she saved from drowning and dreams of growing legs and becoming human like him. You will next see Moretz next January in sf epic THE 5TH WAVE, an adaptation of Rick Yancey's novel.

'CHRISTMAS EVE' TRAILER
 WITH PATRICK STEWART!
And we finally have a trailer for this December's festive comedy movie CHRISTMAS EVE starring Patrick Stewart in a story that takes place hours before Christmas, with 20 strangers having to celebrate the holiday together in six lifts due to a New York power outage. You can check out the first poster too!

  1. Well at least it's not going to be "Devil", a real lift horror story!

    1. not that Patrick didn't experience hell hanging from that lift

  2. I think Emma Watson as Belle would be a miscast. Though I did love Lily James as Cinderella

    1. but who knows? Maybe both ladies will surprise me

    2. I also think Belle will probably be the most miscast role ever seen on the big screen. How can you be Belle with that kind of face? I think Lily Collins as Snow White in MIRROR MIRROR was the best cast fairy tale character ever

    1. as in fave animated movie or fairy tale? Because Andersen's tale ain't much similar to the Disney's movie and this one will be true to the original story, which means it will be darker, there's like a scene in which Ariel cuts her own tongue out :(

    2. I have no idea either. So spell it out for me. How excited are you for this?

  4. Christmas Eve looks good to me. I like the premise, although it is not a position I would want to find myself in. Patrick may have the worst of the bargain, being stuck alone, having to face his own nature. I'm guessing he will go through a significant change by the end.

    1. I wouldn't mind getting stranded in a lift if I was in it with hot company, you know... I'd actually pray for it to happen :)))

  7. Littler Mermaid has always been my favorite Disney princess, and I don't know what Sophia's problem is because we all think the mermaid as a 16 year old girl. I don't know how much I'll like this darker version, and I'm not sure I like who they cast as the lead either. Why couldn't they find some talented unknown who fit the bill a little better a chance to shine here?

It would be pure hell for me to be stuck in an elevator with strangers! Just the 30 second ride on a normal basis makes my skin crawl when I'm stranded in the cart with another passenger.

    1. No, she just didn't want a teen star in it, she wanted an anonymous girl or a new actress... didn't want the teensy buzz around it. Most of today's teen stars are talentless brats... I haven't see Chloe in anything, but she does seem to have a violent choice of roles which I don't support. She does seem good in 5TH WAVE trailer, though

    2. Why does everything have to be a darker version? It makes me sick.

There. I said it and spelled it out too.
Now, where's my blue suede shoe?

  8. I can imagine Chloe Moretz flapping fins. Her acting was so good in her last thriller film with Charlize Theron that she still gives me the creeps.
