Continuing our reports from New York Comic Con, you can feast your eyes today on the brand new trailer (showing stunning post apocalyptic landscapes and tons of magic) and stunning poster for MTV's small screen adaptation of famous fantasy epic novels THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES It has also been revealed that the epic series will start airing its ten episodes January 5th opening the brand new year television season of new shows with a special two hour episode!

THE WORLD OF ELVES
Based on super popular Terry Brooks epic fantasy SHANNARA novel saga the series follows Elvin princess Amberle (Poppy Drayton), human Eretria (Ivana Baquero) and elf-human hybrid Wil (Austin Butler) on their quest to save the world from an evil demon with their adventures set hundreds of years after the society has destroyed itself through nuclear holocaust. Daniel Macpherson, Manu Bennett, John Rhys Davies also star in John Favreau directed and produced series. Don't forget our previous spotlight on the main characters of the upcoming series!

  8. This looked much better than the teaser trailer they released earlier. It gives me a better idea of how closely they've matched what the world looked like in my imagination when I read the books so many years ago. I'll give it a go, but I remain skeptical.

    I've had a day of recovery and will have to get back at it tomorrow. I'll pop in to see you again in a few days dahlink.

  11. Shannara Chronicles looks intense. At the beginning of the trailer, I was admiring the scenery. Then all the blood started. It was surprising!
