FIRST LAVISH 'MAGNIFICENT CENTURY: KOSEM SULTANA' EPIC TV SERIES TEASER WITH HULYA AVSAR, EKIN KOC, SARAH HYLAND AND BEREN SAAT.

'KOSEM SULTANA'
EPIC TV SERIES GETS 1ST TEASER
Now, here's something lavish for you this Sunday! Tims Productions and Turkish Star TV have released the first, rather artsy, epic and intriguing first teaser trailer for their historical saga MAGNI- FICENT CENTURY: KOSEM SULTANA  (Muhteşem Yüzyıl Kösem) with Beren Saat in the lead role. Now, you can't actually see her in the teaser (I'm guessing they're probably saving her for the real trailer) but you can see gorgeous Hülya Avşar as her grandmother in law Safiye Sultana and Ekin Koç as Sultan Ahmet! The series should start airing October 1st in Turkey and a bit later on around The Balkans, Russia, Asia and Africa! The previous series which followed Sultan Suleyman was one of the most watched series worldwide.

BEREN SAAT, HULYA AVSAR, EKIN KOC LEAD THE CAST
The series will follow KOSEM SULTANA, played by Beren Saat and Sarah Hyland (in the younger version), who was born at the end of the 16th century as Anastasia and ended up in Topkapi Palace where, thanks to her intelligence and skill she became Sultan Ahmet's favourite concubine and mother of his children. She will quickly become one the most influential women in the history of the Ottoman Empire. Ekin Koç will play Sultan Ahmet who died when he was only 27. Hülya Avşar plays Safiye Sultana who was the wife of Sultan Murad, the son of Sultan Selim and Nurbanu Sultana who were characters in the MAGNIFICENT CENTURY previous series. After Ahmet's death two of his sons with KOSEM SULTANA will ascend to the throne thanks to the power of their mother. Alma Terzic will be Ahmet's mother Handan Sultana. Stay tuned for more official pics!

    1. yes, dangerous especially at the Turkish court :) Most of their sultans, especially in that era, came to power by killing off all their brothers... sometimes even fathers too. Kosem's son Osman II came to power by overthrowing his uncle with the help of mommy dearest :)
When it comes both to visuals, acting and writing, these Turkish epic series are ten times ahead of the US ones

  5. The trailer is beautiful and in some ways reminds me of the ballet. It looks dark, deadly and sumptuous. Did Magnificent Century air in US?

So yes, I'm gobbling down those series like a fat girl home alone with a box of chocolates. I'm going to watch more Banished tonight and when I'm done with that I'll do Vicious. I think after the intensity of Banished I'll need some comedy.

    1. No, it didn't, dear. I think they're too long for US audiences. They have an hour and a half long weekly episodes from September till June. Which is about 100 to 130 hour and a half long episodes :) Our channels usually buy them an air them an hour each day over the weekdays. I would download MAGNIFICENT CENTURY each week and watch it on quiet Sunday evenings. My fave series ever. Some of it has English translations at YouTube methinks.

Glad you liked them so much, dear. I knew you would... I took care to send you only the crem de la crem of the series :) You will love the films too. Your hubs might like UNCONDITIONAL since it is a Christian movie. It's one of my fave ever... filled with love and care in each scene.

      I was a bit disappointed with VICIOUS 2 :(

    2. I'll have to check Youtube for Magnificent Century with subtitles. I think I would like that one.

I am going to do Vicious next and will let you know what I think. Sometimes the writers of a show just lose the magic touch and a series goes down the drain.

    3. You probably would, and it gets better as seasons go on. I just love how extremely quickly the plot goes there. It is the total opposite of Indian soaps in which a scene lasts for two weeks :)

I think that going outside their flat they lost the focus on the witty conversation between the two of them. And in this one they would just often throw bad words when they feel helpless.

Did I send you INDIAN SUMMERS too?
