AIDAN TURNER JOINS 'LOOK AWAY'! HEARTBREAKING 'BOULEVARD' TRAILER WITH ROBIN WILLIAMS! MATT SMITH IS PRINCE PHILIP, JOHN LITHGOW CHURCHILL IN 'CROWN' EPIC SERIES!

  AIDAN TURNER
JOINS 'LOOK AWAY' COMEDY
One of this year's hottest TV faces and also the hottest  of THE HOBBIT dwarves out there, POLDARK's Aidan Turner has scored a role in dark comedy LOOK AWAY next to Matthew Broderick, Chloë Sevigny, and Shannon Tarbet.  According to 'Deadline' Turner will play the love interest to Tarbet’s main character, an offbeat young woman who is unable to physically see her mother due to a fictional affliction called selective blindness.
'DURRELL'S' PERIOD SET SERIES
Meanwhile, British ITV will turn Gerald Durrell's Corfu memoirs (including MY FAMILY AND OTHER ANIMALS) into THE DURRELLS six part series set in the 1930s and telling the story of Louisa Durrell, whose money is running out and whose four children are going off the rails after the death of her husband. The family move to Corfu to make a new life for themselves, but still face plenty of challenges.

   'THE CROWN' EPIC SERIES
MATT SMITH IS PRINCE PHILIP, JOHN LITHGOW CHURCHILL
The news I reported earlier last year on Claire Foy getting the lead role in expensive Netflix drama THE CROWN has been confirmed now with John Lithgow and Matt Smith added to the cast as well! In the sprawling series Foy will be Queen Elizabeth II, Lithgow is Churchill, while Smith will play Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh! Stephen Daldry is directing the inside story of two of the most famous addresses in the world – Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street – and the intrigues, love lives and machinations behind the great events that shaped the second half of the 20th century. Vanessa Kirby was mentioned previously as the possible actress to play queen's sister Princess Margaret.

   'BOULEVARD' TRAILER
ROBIN WILLIAMS' HEART WRENCHING LAST MASTERPIECE
Something really nice as your today's trailer - the first footage from Robin Williams' moving last ever role in touching drama BOULEVARD! He is playing an ageing husband emotionally struggling with his life who, as a lonely married man, befriends a male prostitute (Roberto Aguire) as he faces up to his own hidden homosexuality. It's out next month!

    3. you will deeply enjoy the now legendary POLDARK scene in which he works in the field shirtless and all oiled up.... probably the hottest of such scenes in the history of telly

  7. I wouldn't mind having selective blindness-the kind that wouldn't allow me to see stupid people :)

Oh, but Boulevard will be a hard one to watch without crying. But I will have to watch it as it was Robin's last work and I think we owe him that much. Also the theme of the moving will be important and very moving.

    1. That is what I thought. I said, wait, what, it's an illness? I thought it was just regular good old jolly fun family hatred :)

And I couldn't imagine a better film to be his last... he was always so brilliant in touching dramas, the humane ones... and I'm sad he didn't get more Oscars for such roles

  8. Selective blindness? I can think of a few very rare circumstances that I'd be ok with that. I still am in shock about Robin Williams.

  9. I didn't know Robin Williams had another movie we hadn't seen. It's interesting this one is about someone hiding his true self. Sounds like it paralleled his life a little in that sense. Although no matter what movie he'd done, people would have probably found some way to get meaning from it like that, I guess.

    1. he had seven of them.
It's interesting how all of his films were touching and meaningful even when it was about comedies

  10. What's your pick of the litter, Dez?
I'm afraid Boulevard would be awfully depressing.
