VIDEO THURSDAY: TRAILERS FOR 'A WALK IN THE WOODS' WITH ROBERT REDFORD, EMMA THOMPSON, NICK NOLTE, 'THE END OF THE TOUR' WITH JESSE EISENBERG AND JASON SEGEL

'A WALK IN THE WOODS' TRAILER
WITH ROBERT REDFORD, EMMA THOMPSON AND NICK NOLTE
Two trailers for you today, first one up for new comedy drama from Robert Redford and Nick Nolte A WALK IN THE WOODS out this Autumn. It follows celebrated travel writer, Bill Bryson (Robert Redford) who, instead of retiring to enjoy his loving wife (Emma Thompson), and his family, challenges himself to hike the Appalachian Trail, 2,200 miles of America's most unspoiled and rugged countryside from Georgia to Maine. The peace and tranquillity he hopes to find, though, is anything but, once he agrees to being accompanied by the only person he can find willing to join him on the trek, his long lost and former friend Katz (Nick Nolte), a  serial philanderer who, after a lifetime of relying on his charm and wits to keep one step ahead of the law, sees the trip as a way to sneak out of paying some debts and sneak into one last adventure before its too late. The trouble is, the two have a completely different definition of the word "adventure"!

'THE END OF THE TOUR'
TRAILER WITH JESSE EISENBERG AND JASON SEGEL
The second trailer is for another drama which arrives into cinemas this July.  THE END OF THE TOUR tells the story of the five-day interview between Rolling Stone reporter (and novelist) David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) and acclaimed novelist David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel), which took place right after the 1996 publication of Wallace's ground breaking epic novel, Infinite Jest. As the days go on, a tenuous yet intense relationship seems to develop between journalist and subject. The two men bob and weave around each other, sharing laughs and also possibly revealing hidden frailties - but it's never clear how truthful they are being with each other.

  1. A Walk in the Woods, eh? Has a very Grumpy Old Men vibe, but could be a fun flick.

  2. I recently watched a movie with Robert Redford where he was on a boat. For a movie with no words, it had me yelling at my tv. Lol

  8. So, I take it you're not a fan of Redford darling? I didn't used to mind him so much until he got political. Celebrities who think they can tell me what to think and how to act annoy me.

My mother in law and sister in law were going to hike that trail about ten years ago. Now, these are two women who wear high heel sandals to picnics and end up with blister on their feet. Thankfully they were talked out of it.

And on a lighter and funnier note-So today wasn't very hot and it so I was outside for about 8 hours without coming in. A few minutes ago I looked in the mirror. Jaysus, but I'm burnt all to hell. Dahlink, you're friend is an Irish Lobster :0)

    1. Yes, dear, I generally can't stand him and Eastwood because they are uneducated ignorant pawns of the American establishment who use their films in political propaganda :) I usually put them in the same group with that horrid beast Heston Charlton

OMG how did hubby didn't call the police when you went missing for 8 hours? :)
It's been extremely rainy and gloomy here for a whole week now.... it's almost like early winter and not late spring.... quite unusual.... not that I mind....

    2. The weather has been very strange all over. Texas began flooding in early May and it's only getting worse. Did you hear it has gotten so hot in India that the asphalt streets are melting? I saw a picture of it and it's very weird looking. Over 1,000 dead due to heat.

Now that we have the privacy fence, The Hubby comes out and sits. We had the steps built especially for him. He loves it out there.

    3. yes, I've seen the melted zebras in India... the only good thing is that the Indians are used to heat and hot weather unlike us..... But then again, so many of them don't even have normal homes... probably not even fridges not to mention air conditioners.

That is lovely to hear... can he walk? He is not in wheelchair or something?

    2. Well, I'll throw you to the wild animals so I can run like hell out of there. Then, I bet I die by running off a cliff. Let's just agree not to go hiking together any time soon ;)

  13. The Robert Redford movie sounds interesting. I'm glad they're portraying older people in an adventurous light rather than just making them cantankerous.
