'SUPERGIRL' TV SERIES TRAILER IS HERE! 'THE INTERN' TRAILER WITH ROBERT DE NIRO, ANNE HATHAWAY! ITV ORDERS 'JERICHO' 19TH CENTURY SERIES! BBC'S FRENCH REVOLUTION 'PLACE OF GREATER SAFETY' TV SERIES

'SUPERGIRL' TV SERIES
TRAILER HAS BEEN RELEASED
CBS has released the first, rather long, trailer for their upcoming new TV series SUPERGIRL which will see young Melissa Benoist playing the super heroine on  Monday nights this November! She plays the Kryptonian refugee Kara Zor-El, who decides to embrace her powers after a lifetime of hiding on earth under the name Kara Danvers. Kara's civilian life includes working for the demanding Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) at the media conglomerate CatCo along with photographer Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks). The journey for Kara to become SUPERGIRL will see her cross paths with Toyman (Jeremy Jordan), the alien convict Vartox (Owain Yeoman) and secretive government agent Hank Henshaw (David Harewood).

ITV ORDERS 'JERICHO'
19TH CENTURY TV SERIES
And I have a bunch of TV news coming from UK, starting with ITV ordering JERICHO historical series! Set in the 1870s, it will focus on the shantytown of Jericho, home to a community that will live, thrive and die in the shadow of the viaduct they’ve been brought together to build. Pioneers, settlers and outcasts, they include people with secrets to hide and those looking to start again. One of the central characters is Annie Quaintain (Jessica Raine), who refuses to let tragedy define her. After being disgraced by her husband, she arrives in JERICHO with her two children; there she meets Ralph Coates (Clarke Peters), a self-styled railway agent skilled at reading people. She also encounters Johnny Jackson (Hans Matheson), also new to Jericho.
BBC TO ADAPT 'PLACE OF GREATER SAFETY' INTO EPIC SERIES
Meanwhile, after rather bland and uninspired WOLF HALL BBC is going to adapt Hilary Mantel's A PLACE OF GREATER SAFETY too into TV series. RIPPER STREET creator Richard Warlow will adapt the 18th century story based on Georges Danton, Camille Desmoulins and Maximilien Robespierre's involvement in the French Revolution.

'THE INTERN' TRAILER
ROBERT DE NIRO IS ANNE HATHAWAY'S ASSISTANT
You can also check out the first trailer for Nancy Meyer's new comedy THE INTERN which is out this September with Robert De Niro playing a 70-year-old widower who has discovered that retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Anne Hathaway.

  1. Omg! Supergirl blew me away. She's amazing in it! My husband and I thought we won't have anything left to watch since Revenge ended. Looking forward to it this fall. And double Omg..for The Intern. The trailer made me teary eyed. I'm definitely going to see it.

    3. Well? Are you gonna fire the casting director or what? Tell them we need someone who means it when she's wearing the damn suit. Plus someone who has charisma.

Thanks, Dezz. Knew I could count on you. Sorry about the camel toe. :D

  9. The Intern looks absolutely marvelous! The trailer is a good one as it gives the humour of the film and the idea that much about life will be learned by the younger generation. And visa versa by the older generation.

I know there was a Supergirl, but I know nothing of that character or her background. And truly, I'm not interested in finding out.

Jericho is one I will watch for sure. Now this will sound catty but what is up with the shoulders on the dress Jessica is wearing? That's like the 80's on speed.

    1. Yep, especially in today's society in which you are considered worthless after you turn 35.....

Me, neither, I shall skip that one big time... all those superhero shows are even worse than the movies....

It's some designer coat dress methinks :) I went with it because my photos within one post tend to have a theme and todays' was hands on the hips :)

  10. The intern looks good. Robert De Niro looks good in it. I didn't like him at all in Silver Linings Playbook.

    1. he tends to act in comedies in recent years ... I rarely like him myself

  11. Oh, this looks like a girl theme in today's post! I like that we will be able to watch a female hero be Super'man'!

The Intern looks like it could be good! It makes me think of The Devil Wears Prada. Neat fact: I was actually working at the Conde Nast building in NYC when they filmed The Devil Wears Prada. I was working for The New Yorker Magazine at the time and I recognized a lot of the spaces in the movie.

  13. As a collector of comics I have one thing to say: supergirl is feisty, this one looks like she couldn't care less and someone stole her puppy. Fire the casting guy. Now!

    1. will do, will do! Casting directors have gone all crazy in recent years.... Wait! You collect comics? You never say anything about yourself, Blue....
