Now, it isn't yet known if he will star in it too, but Hollywood hunk Channing Tatum will produce the big screen adaptation of popular best selling novel TWO KISSES FOR MADDY from Matthew Logelin for Sony Pictures. The heart breaking story of the emotional book revolves around a father who must raise his newborn daughter alone after his wife tragically dies 27 hours after childbirth. As Maddy grows older, her father gives her two kisses each night, one from himself and one from her mother.

'DICKENSIAN' BBC EPIC DRAMA

WITH ALL DICKENS' CHARACTERS

Meanwhile, in TV news, something rather interesting coming from BBC! They are preparing a 20 half hour episode series DICKEN- SIAN which will bring together some of the writer's most iconic characters as their lives intertwine in unique and surprising ways in 19th Century London.

The stellar cast will include Caroline Quentin (as 'Oliver Twists' Mrs Bumble), Peter Firth, Stephen Rea (as tenacious Inspector Bucket from 'Bleak House'), Pauline Collins (as gin-tippling Mrs Gamp from 'Martin Chuzzlewit'), Tuppence Middleton, Sophie Rundle, Omid Djalili, Anton Lesser, Ned Dennehy, Adrian Rawlins and Tom Weston-Jones. The 90-metre, cobbled 19th century street which has already been built by the studio for Dickens' characters to inhabit will also welcome Scrooge, Fagin and Miss Havisham among other literary faces!

IS NOT STUPID
WAREHOUSE 13 star Aaron Ashmore is playing John Jaqobis, who  is dyslexic with learning and reading disabilities and was labeled as “stupid” all of his life. He is not. Decisively. Give this man any mech, any tech, and he can fix it build it  fly it. Just don’t ask him to read the instructions. Or to believe that he’s actually intelligent. OK yeah, John has some self esteem issues but one thing he's completely sure of is his devotion to his fellow team mates.

HANNAH JOHN KAMEN

CHRIS PINE TO PLAY 

WONDER WOMAN'S BOYFRIEND?

Well, he's never been in a superhero flick, but now he will star in one... not with super powers, though. Chris Pine is, apparently, negotiating to take the lead male role next to Gal Gadot in WONDER WOMAN movie. He would play her love interest and boyfriend Steve Trevor. He is a World War II pilot whom she saves when he crash lands in Amazon and later on becomes her boyfriend when she, under the name of Diana Prince, comes to live in the modern civilization. Scott Eastwood was previously rumoured for the role, but he opted for a role in SUICIDE SQUAD. The movie is out summer 2017. Chris will be busy this summer shooting STAR TREK 3.

'LEWIS AND CLARK' EPIC SERIES

TANAYA BEATTY JOINS MATTHIAS SCHOENAERTS, CASSEY AFFLECK
In TV news, HBO is casting new roles for their historical mini series LEWIS AND CLARK about America’s first contact with the land and native tribes of the country west of the Mississippi River!  Tanaya Beatty, Stephen Hill, Creed Garnick and Aidan Kahn have joined the series which follows the epic journey of the Corps of Discovery and its captains, Meriwether Lewis (Casey Affleck) and William Clark (Matthias Schoenaerts), who traverse uncharted territory on a mission to deliver President Jefferson’s message of sovereignty as they search for his fabled all-water route to the Pacific. Tanaya Beatty will play Sacagawea, young woman of the Lemhi Shoshone tribe, who became an interpreter for the expedition. The other three actors will be members of the team alongside Josh Stewart and Parker Croft.

ANNE HATHAWAY TO LEAD

 PERIOD SET 'LIFEBOAT' DRAMA

Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Joe Wright might direct the big screen adaptation of Charlotte Rogan's book THE LIFEBOAT with Anne Hathaway attached to star! It’s about a young bride turned widow standing trial in 1914 for murder. The story recounts how with the help of her new husband she survived the sinking of the Empress, a transatlantic ocean liner. She finds herself on a lifeboat, only to discover there are too many people on board, leading to a moral crisis as to who stays and who has to go.

Two trailers for you today, first one up for new comedy drama from Robert Redford and Nick Nolte A WALK IN THE WOODS out this Autumn. It follows celebrated travel writer, Bill Bryson (Robert Redford) who, instead of retiring to enjoy his loving wife (Emma Thompson), and his family, challenges himself to hike the Appalachian Trail, 2,200 miles of America's most unspoiled and rugged countryside from Georgia to Maine. The peace and tranquillity he hopes to find, though, is anything but, once he agrees to being accompanied by the only person he can find willing to join him on the trek, his long lost and former friend Katz (Nick Nolte), a  serial philanderer who, after a lifetime of relying on his charm and wits to keep one step ahead of the law, sees the trip as a way to sneak out of paying some debts and sneak into one last adventure before its too late. The trouble is, the two have a completely different definition of the word "adventure"!

'THE END OF THE TOUR'

The second trailer is for another drama which arrives into cinemas this July.  THE END OF THE TOUR tells the story of the five-day interview between Rolling Stone reporter (and novelist) David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) and acclaimed novelist David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel), which took place right after the 1996 publication of Wallace's ground breaking epic novel, Infinite Jest. As the days go on, a tenuous yet intense relationship seems to develop between journalist and subject. The two men bob and weave around each other, sharing laughs and also possibly revealing hidden frailties - but it's never clear how truthful they are being with each other.

If you liked  the first season of Channel 4's magnificent historical saga INDIAN SUMMERS which recently finished airing in UK and will air in USA at PBS and Australia this summer, you will be happy to hear that acting legends Rachel Griffiths and Art Malik have joined the cast along with DA VINCI'S DEMONS brilliant star Blake Ritson! According to 'Digital Spy' they will join Julie Walters and Henry Lloyd Hughes on the Channel 4 show, which is set in 1932 Colonial India. Art Malik will take on the role of the Maharaja Maritpur, while Rachel Griffiths will play his Australian mistress Sirene.

CHARLENE MCKENNA JOINS 

'THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR' PREHISTORIC TV SERIES
Yet another epic series we're awaiting is Ron Howard's THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR over at Lifetime which has just added A.D.'s Charlene McKenna to the cast! Based on Jean M. Auel's book it takes place at a time in prehistory more than 25,000 years ago when Neanderthals shared the planet with the first early modern humans and a band of cave dwellers adopts blond and blue-eyed Ayla (Millie Brady), a child of the “Others.” As Ayla matures into a young woman of spirit and courage, she must fight for survival against the jealous bigotry of Broud (Johnny Ward), who one day will be clan leader. McKenna will play Iza, clan leader Brun’s (Hal Ozsan) sister and the Clan’s medicine woman.

'AIRLOCK' ONLINE SF SHOW

Since there's no fresh news from Hollywood today, we shall begin the new week with brand new character photos from another of the upcoming science fiction shows that await us this summer over at SyFy. DARK MATTER is set to bring some space action in about two weeks - June 12th in a global event in which the show will be aired in 86 countries around the world following six strangers and an android in a galaxy spanning adventure! They are the crew of a derelict spaceship which is awakened from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets.

Actor Marc Bendavid is One! Charming but a bit of a goof, One (aka Pretty Boy) is the crew's moral centre, a guy who always tries to do the right thing, despite the odds stacked against him and no matter how unpopular the course of action. Sure, he screws up - but he means well.

THE BOSS LADY!

Actress Melissa O'Neill is Two, the defacto leader, (aka Boss Lady) a master fighter. Determined and more than a little headstrong, she is not the type you want to mess with - or disappoint. She can be cool and inscrutable and yet, at the same time, can demonstrate surprising compassion - the mark of a true leader.

THE SUNSHINE!
Actor Anthony Lemke is Three! A true bad-ass, (aka Sunshine) the flip side to One's principled coin - which is why the two are often at odds, developing a (grudging) like-hate relationship over the course of their journey. He is a mercenary through-and-through, a Han Solo type!

Actor Alex Mallari Jr. is Four! Ever-stoic and a master of the blade, Four's (aka Slashy McStabberson) cool, calm demeanour belies a ruthlessness that gives even his fellow crew members pause. He's a man of few words but, when he does speak - just like when he fights - it's with precise efficiency.

THE TELEPATHIC KID
Actress Jodelle Ferland is Five. The mascot with a knack for mechanics, Five (aka Kid) also has some mysterious abilities. What first seem like telepathic powers turn out to be jumbled memories, but whose memories are they?

THE BLONDE ANDROID

The Android is played by Zoie Palmer.  She is more butler-like than your typical robot - concise, staid, yet surprisingly possessed of a subtly wry sense of humour. She is an indispensable member of the crew since she can exercise control over all the ship's systems, an ability of which she isn't shy about reminding everyone.

Now, back when it was announced for production I truly didn't expect much from it, but now that SyFy has revealed the first trailer for their new science fiction series THE MAGICIANS it really seems intriguing, and in some scenes even brilliant and amazing. It is the small screen adaptation of Lev Grossman's bestselling novels.

The historical adventure will star super dashing Lee Jones as a great warrior knight for King Edward I, who must return to the battle after putting down his sword and pledging he won't be back. As you've probably heard by now, the movie news of the day is that Reese Witherspoon will play TINKERBELL in Disney's live action movie! She will also produce the movie which was, some years ago, supposed to star Elizabeth Banks. No plot yet, but it has been revealed that the take on the fairy character will be similar as in MALEFICENT, bringing a new perspective and showing us something we didn't know about the character before. The movie scheduled for 2017 will have a rival in another TINKERBELL project over at 20th Century Fox where the lead role is secured for Melissa McCarthy!

And while we are still waiting for the first full official trailer, straight from Cannes Film Festival come first two clips from long awaited new adaptation of Shakespeare's MACBETH with Michael Fassbender. One of them shows Fassy being crowned while Marion Cotillard as ruthless Lady Macbeth is watching, and the other one shows him leading his army into a magnificent slow motion battle! Directed by Justin Kurtzel the movie opens in Europe in October with the costumes being done by Oscar winner Jacqueline Durran. Not much to show you today, so we're turning over to three uplifting projects, starting with the new film from our dearest director Lasse Hallstrom (CHOCOLAT, SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN, THE 100 FOOT JOURNEY) who will helm the adaptation of A DOG'S PURPOSE from W. Bryce Cameron. The story of the novel describes one dog’s quest to discover his purpose in life over the course of several lifetimes with multiple owners. So, expect a warm, family movie with heartwarming message as in all Lasse's lovely movies.

Speaking of warm movies, 'Deadline' reports that our fave Celia Imrie has joined the cast of  YEAR BY THE SEA the adaptation of Joan Anderson’s bestselling memoir in which Karen Allen plays the author hoping to reclaim who she was before marriage and children. She retreats to Cape Cod where she embarks upon a quest to set herself free. That’s where she meets Joan Erikson (Celia Imrie), a free-spirited matriarch and hippie with thrift-shop eccentricity who exudes resilience and inner strength.

New historical series to arrive to the small screens will be British ITV's eight episode epic drama VICTORIA following Britain's longest reigning monarch as she leaves childhood behind and ascends to the throne at the age of just 18. The series on the infamous tyrant who shamelessly enslaved half of the world and then exploited it will be done by the same team which did recent hit POLDARK. We should hear casting news soon since it shoots this September.

BBC TO MAKE 'BRONTE SISTERS' FILM

Meanwhile, BBC One is planning a TV movie on Bronte sisters. TO WALK INVISIBLE: THE BRONTE SISTERS will explore the relationship the three sisters had with each other and their self educated father.

'WARCRAFT' MOVIE REVEALS

After the first posters from last winter, new photos have been released for the highly anticipated epic fantasy WARCRAFT showing orc warchief Ogrim played by Robert Kazinsky. Years ago the film was started as VIY, but was then reshoot and given tones of special effects ready to be released this weekend on VOD and in select theatres. It follows an 18th century English cartographer, Jonathan Green, who sets out on a journey to map the uncharted lands of Transylvania, only to discover the dark secrets and dangerous creatures hidden in a cursed, fantastical Ukrainian forest. Jason Flemyng and Charles Dance lead the cast!
