'TUT' ANCIENT EGYPT TV SERIES TRAILER WITH BEN KINGSLEY AND AVAN JOGIA! NEW ROBIN HOOD TV SHOW 'THE OUTLAW CHRONICLES' BASED ON ANGUS DONALD'S BOOKS!

NEW ROBIN HOOD TV SERIES
'THE OUTLAW CHRONICLES'
While no less than four new rival movies on the famed medieval Sherwood hero are being planned by different studios in Hollywood at the moment, it seems our green hero ROBIN HOOD will sneak onto the small screens as well! As 'Deadline' reports, Free Mantle Media has bought TV rights on Angus Donald's historical adventure books THE OUTLAW CHRONICLES to be adapted by Michael Konyves whose LAST KNIGHTS with Clive Owen is currently playing in the cinemas around the world.
In THE OUTLAW CHRONICLES, as Robin’s mission turns from trying to raise money for his pardon to something much greater, he must confront the demons of his past, as well as protect those he most loves, including Marie-Anne, Countess of Locksley, the love of his life.

  1. No offense to Errol Flynn, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, or whomever they're casting here, but there's only one Robin Hood . . . and that is Michael Praed. :)

    1. I had to google him, never heard of him before :) To me, Robin is Jonas Armstrong.

    2. To me, Robin Hood is Richard Greene of the old British TV series from the 1960s.

  2. Its funny they are doing TUT, because that is a tough genre to make work in the box office.

I know "Gladiator" did well, but ever since the movie Fall of The Roman Empire in 1964 bombed it effectively killed off the "swords-and-sandals" genre.

I would not expect TUT to do well.

    1. but it is a TV series, dear, not a movie :) And when it comes to epic films, even when they don't pay of at the box office in USA, they usually do around the world or at the DVD market. Those are the films that last long at the DVD market

    2. LOL! Oops... now I see it is a TV show.

Yes, you are probably correct that the genre may be able to make money around the world.

However, I had just read an article about biggest box office bombs and that is where I pulled the swords-and-sandals genre bombing in the box office from.

  4. I'm not going to complain about more Robin Hood stories. I love them. And the King Tut epic looks very dramatic. I'll give it a try. :)

  8. My biggest thought is, "Will they get enough viewers on Spike to justify spending all that money?" Because it doesn't look like it was a cheap film to put together...

    1. they have a plan of changing their programme and reaching a wider audience and this is one step in that direction ... this certainly puts them on a worldwide map because they can sell it to many countries
