GLAMOROUS CHARACTER PHOTOS AND HILARIOUS QUEEN'S ADDRESS TO THE NATION FROM E!'S NEW 'THE ROYALS' SERIES WITH ELIZABETH HURLEY, VINCENT REGAN, WILLIAM MOSELEY, JOAN COLLINS

  GLITZY CHARACTER PHOTOS
FROM E!'S FIRST SCRIPTED TV SERIES 'THE ROYALS'
Now I know that Christmas is over (although the Orthodox one is this Wednesday), but I have the queen's festive address to the nation to show you in the trailer below: it is juicier and spicier than you'd expect, but that is only because we're talking about queen Helena (Elizabeth Hurley) from E!'s first scripted TV series THE ROYALS which will open the doors of its fictional court this March 15th ! I also have the first character photos from the series to show you featuring, beside the queen, the king, the prince, the princess and their entourage. It is a drama about a fictional British Royal family set in modern day London, who inhabit a world of opulence and regal tradition that caters to any and every desire, but one that also comes with a price tag of duty, destiny and intense public scrutiny.

AS IF RULING MONA- RCHY WASN'T ENOUGH
As mentioned above British star Elizabeth Hurley (can you believe she is 49?!?) plays the gorgeous and glamorous queen Helena, whose family life isn't as glitzy as her royal subjects might think: her oldest son has just died in an accident leaving the function of the heir to the throne to his horny younger brother Prince Liam (William Moseley) who might not fit into the role as perfectly as his mother would want to since he is wrecking the queen's nerves by dating an American girl Ophelia (Merritt Patterson). As if that wasn't enough, Liam’s ex Gemma (Sophie Colquhoun) is also still in the picture. To make things worse her daughter princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park) prefers wild partying and enjoying drugs and booze better than her royal duties and also loves to flirt with their head of security Jasper (Tom Austen). Meanwhile, the queen's marriage to king Simon (Vincent Regan) is also slowly failing! And her mother, the Grand Duchess of Oxford (Joan Collins), isn't helping much since her involvement in the Queen's life could lead to trouble, as she always pursues an agenda of her own.

  1. Seems like a soap opera...but I guess that's what Nashville is, too. My dad will love this one--he's British.

  2. They need to use that Joan Collins for an Energizer Battery commercial - she just keeps on going, and going, and going. Amazing actually.

While I do like things pertaining to royalty I'm not sure if this is a little too over the top for me. They're all a little too "perfect" in appearance. :) :)

    1. Joan actually got a 'dame' title today from the queen :)
You know what they say - perfect outside, dirty inside :)

    2. With tongue in cheek… I think Joan is deserving of "dame" status. Isn't she just!

I'm dirty outside, with all these renos - but oh so perfect inside… okay, I lie - I'm as dirty inside as I am crusty on the outside.

    3. Well she is only famous for naked scenes in her youth and beating up Krystle Carrington on telly but then again through her fame she is promoting her country too... not that I knew before that she was British LOL

  3. Hi Dez.....
I think Elizabeth Hurley has had as many "injections" as Joan Collins!
    Just sayin.......
    Cheers!

  4. That's a funny trailer. I have to wonder what the real monarchy would say about it! Eliabeth Hurley looks amazing. She is a beautiful woman.

  5. I haven't seen Joan in ages and she doesn't seem to have aged a bit. And I can't believe Elizabeth is 49. Women with great bone structure hold their age so well.

That speech was funny and I have to wonder if Englands German Queen has ever been tempted to say what she's actually thinking. "You commoners are all twats but would you please buy us a new ship. We do miss our old one."

    1. I can't either, she looks like she could be my peer.... Elizabeth not Joan LOL Joan says she looks young thanks to shagging younger lovers daily.... A recipe everybody must try.....

William Moseley who plays the prince says that he actually based his character on that horridly immature prick prince Harry, dear. I've just heard that Harry might become the first royal head to become a general in UK army.... I guess posing nude and boozing himself to death at the parties was a great recommendation for this....

    2. Harry as a general? Good God Almighty, that would be tragic. But that way he could sit at a desk during wartime and keep his Royal arse safe.

    3. I'm afraid he would go into battle and kill lots of innocent people, haven't he or Wills already took part in some bombings with a chopper? They raise them to be brutal killers from the youth, dear :(

  6. It's my goal to age a beautifully as Elizabeth. What a stunner! This one seems a little funnier than I thought it would be. I just may have to tune in!

    2. You don't, dear! That's part of what makes us both so fabulous ;)

  7. Feh -- the real Royals in Britain are bad enough. Don't need to watch a fictional set on TV.

  9. For a show about royalty it does sound juicy! Question is, will they do it right or will it be too over the top?

  12. These are very glamorous royals! There is a trend to that ever since the Princess Di days.

I'm kind of a royal fan over here in US land. Happy New Year, DEZ!

    1. Yep, unlike the real British royals, these are glamorous. Wills and Kate have no style, and they even dress their lil' kid as if it's WW2

  13. Whoa. Joan Collins is back. She sure doesn't look like Downton Abbey grand lady, does she?
