MOVING 'NOBLE' TRAILER
A DREAM THAT CHANGED A MILLION LIVES
Two trailers for you today, starting with a deeply moving one for inspiring Irish drama NOBLE which comes to British theatres next year. Starring Deidre O'Kane, Liam Cunningham and Brendan Coyle, the story is set in Vietnam,1989. Fourteen years after the end of the war. When Irish woman Christina Noble flies into Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) she leaves behind an extraordinary life story. But the best is yet to come. Christina lands in a country "that she wouldn't be able to show you on a map". With a few dollars, a dream and her own hard-won courage, she  is about to change everything. For hundreds of thousands of people. Forever. NOBLE is the inspirational true story of a woman who believes that it only takes one person to make a difference. And of how she is proved right.

'ELSA AND FRED' TRAILER
CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER & SHIRLEY MACLAINE - IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR A DREAM LOVE
Do I have a delightful trailer for you today, people: it's the first one for ELSA AND FRED romantic drama which arrives into cinemas November 6th! Christopher Plummer and Shirley MacLaine play the titular characters in the story of two people who at the end of the road, discover that it's never too late to love and make dreams come true. Elsa has lived for the past 60 years dreaming of a moment that Fellini had already envisaged: the scene in 'La Dolce Vita' at the Fontana di Trevi. The same scene without Anita Ekberg in it, but with Elsa instead. Without Marcello Mastroiani but with that love that took so long to arrive. Fred has always been a good man who did everything he was supposed to do. After losing his wife, he feels disturbed and confused and his daughter (Marcia Gay Harden) decides that it would be best if he moves into a smaller apartment where he ends meeting Elsa. From that moment on, everything changes. Elsa bursts into his life like a whirlwind, determined to teach him that the time he has left to live - be it more or less - is precious and that he should enjoy it as he pleases. Fred surrenders to Elsa's frenzy, to her youth, to her boldness, to her beautiful madness. George Segal, Scott Bakula and James Brolin also star!

  3. I'm noticing as the baby boomer population gets older, more movies are being made that are specifically targeted toward them. Or maybe it's because so many amazing actors are reaching that age now!

    1. it is mostly because the young actors are so bad, the older ones can't stop working since somebody has to maintain the level of quality

    2. Some of the younger brats really are bad at their jobs. Yet, still getting hired.

    3. And the older actors have that rarest of things in Hollywood-integrity.

  9. Growing up in care clearly had an impact on the life of Christina Noble. That and the horrid poverty gave her a particular empathy towards the plight of those children. It is a miracle that she was able to make such a difference with seemingly so little to work with.

Elsa and Fred looks marvelous. Shirley is such a dotty old thing in real life and she does such a good job in comedies. I loved her in Irma La Douce with Jack Lemon way back in the 60's. And she went on to act in so many other great films as she got older.

    1. The part of the film which describes her horrible childhood in Ireland will be very touching! The church in your homeland is such a devil's nest, dear :(((

ELSA AND FRED is actually a remake of an Italian classic, I forgot to mention it in the post
