NEW BIG SCREEN BOOK ADAPTATIONS: SF 'THE FIFTH WAVE' WITH NICK ROBINSON & CHLOE MORETZ, SF ACTION SERIES 'ATLANTIS' BY A.G. RIDDLE, 'TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE' BY JENNY HAN

THE FIFTH WAVE
ALIENS INVADE IN WAVES
We're talking about new movie adaptations of popular books, people, starting with THE FIFTH WAVE science fiction novel by Rick Yancey which is getting its big screen version over at Sony Pictures! That adaptation already has its main stars - Nick Robinson and Chloe Moretz will take the lead roles in the story set in the aftermath of an alien invasion on Earth. Humanity has survived four waves of the alien attack, with THE FIFTH WAVE about to happen. The story revolves around a  girl named Cassie Sullivan (Chloe Moretz), who is on the run while trying to save her younger brother. Newcomer Alex Roe is also in the cast and will play Evan, who may hold the key to defeating the extraterrestrial scourge.

 NICK ROBINSON JOINS THE CAST
Always likeable and dear Nick Robinson from MELISSA AND JOEY sitcom, plays a boy named Zombie, who Cassie previously had a crush on in school, but is now a ruthless paramilitary leader with numerous alien kills under his belt. Nick Robinson was critically praised last year for his role in heartwarming THE KINGS OF SUMMER and you will also watch him in JURASSIC WORLD which is currently shooting bringing dinosaurs back to cinemas.

A.G. RIDDLE'S ATLANTIS
GETS BIG SCREEN ADAPTATION
Speaking of science fiction, another of the books from that genre to be turned into a movie is ATLANTIS novels series by A.G. Riddle which was just acquired for adaptation by CBS Films. These self published books have been a huge success for the author dominating Amazon charts for two years now. In THE ATLANTIS GENE, THE ATLANTIS PLAGUE and THE ATLANTIS WORLD, the plot revolves around a brilliant geneticist and an international counter terrorism agent who team to thwart a global pandemic and solve the greatest mystery of all time: the truth behind the origins of humanity!

JENNY HAN'S BESTSELLER
'TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE' GETS A MOVIE
And something more for my dear ladies: 'Deadline' reports that New York Times bestseller TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED  BEFORE by Jenny Han (who is also famous for her THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY series) will also get turned into a film. Will Smith will produce and Annie Neal will adapt the story about high schooler Lara Jean Song, who writes love letters to the five boys she’s ever loved and keeps them locked away in a hatbox until the day her letters are mailed, upending her real-life love life.

  1. It's neat to see a self published novel that topped the charts at Amazon being made into a film. This should give authors without publishing houses a great deal of hope for their own futures. I've not read the books, but I wish the writer the best of success.

    How are you doing darling?

  3. I've been meaning to read that Jenny Han book...now I'm going to have to step it up! I wonder what happened to 13 Reasons Why. It was an awesome book and supposedly being made into a movie starring Selena Gomez. I've heard no more about it.

    1. the Element was such a wonderfully trashy event.... If it didn't have the Mila element it would've been more digestible...
