LUPITA NYONG'O TO

Beside scoring a gig in new STAR WARS, Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o will also star in AMERICANAH, a movie adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (also wrote HALF OF A YELLOW SUN) bestselling novel which she will also produce with Brad Pitt. Named one of the ten best books of the 2013 by 'The New York Times', the novel tells the epic love story of young Nigerians, Ifemelu and Obinze - a romance that spans continents, visas, phone cards, and breakups, while exploring the cruelties and the humour of both the modern immigrant experience and the difficulty of finding your way home. Lupita is also scheduled to lend her voice in the new big screen version of THE JUNGLE BOOK!

MICHAEL GAMBON LEADS
BBC & HBO ADAPTATION OF J.K. ROWLING'S 'CASUAL VACANCY'
BBC and HBO have revealed the lineup of actors which will appear in their small screen three episode adaptation of J.K. Rowling's popular novel THE CASUAL VACANCY which centres on Pagford, a seemingly idyllic English village with a cobbled market square and ancient abbey. Behind the pretty façade, however, is a town at war: rich vs. poor, teenagers vs. parents, wives vs. husbands, teachers vs. pupils. Michael Gambon (already starred in Rowling's HARRY PLOPPER) will play the lead role of Howard Mollison, owner of the Pagford delicatessen; Monica Dolan plays Tess Wall, Julia McKenzie (MISS PARPLE) plays Howard’s wife, Rufus Jones plays Howard’s son, Miles Mollison, Keeley Hawes (also known as Matthew MacFadyen's wife) plays Miles’ wife, while Rorry Kinnear plays Barry Fairbrother. The shooting begins next month.

    2. I don't mind a little mush, especially if food is part of the theme of the movie.

  3. Ooh, I love that dress on Lupita. She is so gorgeous.

And I know people in real life who met again after twenty years and fell in love for a second time. The power of Facebook. :)

    1. I thought she would be a new fashion icon, given the first two or three gowns she wore at red carpets, but then something happened to her and now she is the worst dressed. It was difficult finding this one nice dress on her :)

That is lovely! Facebook has its good sides too :)

  5. Stories by Nicholas Sparks are always heartbreaking, but extremely well written and hard to put down. The movie looks like it will be good too.

  7. I really like The Casual Vacancy. I know it didn't get great reviews, and it did take me a bit to actually start to get into the book, but it was one that I thought about long after the book was over. I wanted to hate the main character so bad, but in the end, I loved her, even though I should have still hated her. That book made me think about how society treats the less desirable people without knowing their story. Never judge a book by its cover...

Now, Nicholas Sparks. I have been such a fan of his work for many years, even though sometimes I want to hurl the book out the window once I am done with it. The Best of Me really pissed me off in the end. Makes me wonder why he wants to make such sad endings all the time, but at least this one was still kind of happy. They usually do a great job with the movie adaptations, so I can't wait to see it on the screen.

    1. that is so very true that society treats badly the less desirable people without knowing their story... in today's hectic world we rarely take a break to think about other people's stories.

You mean they don't end up together in the end? What the what?
