STARZ' 'OUTLANDER'
WHAT IF YOUR FUTURE ... WAS THE PAST?
We're having SUMMER 2014 NEW TV SHOWS weekend at HOLLYWOOD SPY, first part today with family shows, and on Sunday comes the second part. We shall start the first part today with Starz' biggest project this summer - historical adventure series OUTLANDER which will start airing August 9th! Based on the bestselling novels by Diana Gabaldon the 16 episode series will star Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Graham McTavish and Lotte Verbeek! OUTLANDER follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

YOUNG & HUNGRY
BELIEVE IN YOUR SELFIE!
Another new show that might interest female audience will be new ABC Family sitcom YOUNG & HUNGRY starring Emily Osment, Rex Lee, Jonathan Sadowski and Kym Whitley. Two worlds collide when Josh, a wealthy young tech entrepreneur, meets Gabi, a feisty young food blogger, looking to be his personal chef. When Josh enlists Gabi to prepare a romantic meal for him and his girlfriend, the dinner goes awry and Gabi finds herself in a very awkward position. With the help of her best friend Sofia and Josh's housekeeper, Gabi turns a difficult situation into an opportunity for employment and maybe even love. The hunger starts June 25th!

CHASING LIFE
INSPIRING SHOW ON CANCER!
Also premièring at ABC Family, on June 10th, is another new drama CHASING LIFE which will star Italia Ricci, Richard Brancatisano and Haley Ramm. The story of the inspiring new drama series follows April, a smart and quick witted aspiring journalist who is trying to work her way up the ladder at a Boston newspaper by trying to impress her hard-nosed editor. When not pursuing the latest scoop, April tries to balance her ambitious career with her family. Just as things start to look up at work, home and on the romance front, April gets the devastating news from an estranged uncle that she has cancer. The show's first season order has 20 episodes!

  1. Oh, thank you for that Outlander clip. That was longer than the one I'd seen. And I love that poster. It's so perfect the way she's being pulled in two directions. :)

    And happy weekend to you!

  2. I like the concept of Outlander. I don't know what I'd do in the past...ok I would try to make myself rich off my knowledge of the past.

    1. I often asked myself that question too.... and it always got me sad because I know so little of science and technology that I wouldn't be of much help to the people in the past :( I could spread intrigues and plots at some court though :)

  4. My fave TV series about cancer is the hilarious and raunchy cable show "The Big C" starring the wonderful Laura Linney! Watch it if you get a chance! There are 4 seasons worth.

    1. I don't like her as an actress. This one will be more serious one, methinks, but inspiring

  8. OUTLANDER sounds right up my alley! My only hope is that it runs its course. So many don't, leaving so many of us disappointed!

    1. it's true, many of the historical shows have left me disappointed in recent years, so I hope this one won't. So far, from the trailers, I don't like the art production and visuals

  9. I love the Outlander series and was excited when I saw the post, then I saw it was a series and not a movie and I grew concerned. Hopeful they will finish it in the 16 episodes. I'm just a big ball of mixed feeling now.

    1. and that is just first season, if it is successful there will be more than 16 episodes :) It's quite unusual, since Starz doesn't do shows with more than 10 episodes per season

two years? I'm with you though, lemon all the

    1. Yep, since, as a vegetarian I eat almost nothing that is industrially produced and I have cleansed my organism over the years, chocolate, which is made from almost 200 ingredients, gives me pimples and ruins my tan :) It is not easy, since most of the sweet products tend to have chocolate or cocoa, but I've no choice....

    2. Can't have Dezzy getting pimples now ... :)

    6. Have you tried cocoa nibs? Oh my gosh, the ones I've eaten are fantastic little bits of the cocoa bean.

    7. I've no idea what those are... but the cocoa in the chocolate is one of the main elements that give me acne :) I avoid it big time and have it only when I make cakes for others

  11. Does ABC Family even come out in Serbia? Or are the shows kinda sent through whatever channels will take them?

    1. we don't have any of the US channels, and it is like that all over the world. Your channels are aired only in US. Some of them have international cable channels (Fox for example, or HBO, or BBC, TLC) and the shows are aired either on them or some of our national channels buy the shows. But since that often takes tones of time, we usually Torrent most of our fresh episodes :)
