HELP DONATING MONEY
FOR THE VICTIMS OF CATASTROPHIC FLOODS IN SERBIA
This is a special post, people! I don't know if most of you around the world have heard about the terrible floods in Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia (since most of the bigger news channels have started writing about it only after Serbian tennis players Novak Djokovic criticised BBC and CNN for not reporting about the true extent of the catastrophe at the Balkan peninsula) but the damage after the torrential rains last week, which caused monstrous flooding waves in most of the rivers, is huge with tens of thousands of people being evacuated, dozens and dozens of dead people, and countless houses, bridges, roads, buildings being destroyed, hundreds of thousands of animals drowned.... Most of the Southern part of Serbia has been turned into a sea in just hours! Serbian capital city Belgrade has on itself taken in tens of thousands of evacuated people, women, and children, who were left without their houses and all belongings. It will take years to recover from the catastrophe and many efforts and luck to fend of all the diseases and illnesses that usually come after extreme floods and landslides.

THE PAYPAL ACCOUNT FOR HELP
If you are willing to help in any way (even the smallest donations count) here is the official PayPal account open for the victims of the floods, to which you can donate money and help these poor people!
PS I will be very thankful to all of you who are willing to post the help account over in your posts and at your blogs and websites! Every help is welcomed and appreciated!

  1. That is a huge mess! I feel so bad for those people to have to go through this after the political upheaval that's been going on over there.

    1. the worst thing is that our government is using the situation for their evil games, sending help only to the towns in which their party is ruling... The story behind this catastrophe is deeper and more sinister than you can imagine

    2. Sending help only to the towns in which their party is ruling? Those sons of bitches.

    4. Yes, I believe it. You wouldn't believe how much I believe it. I hate politics. It's a dirty game in which everyone cheats.

Yes, I'm blessed. I know that now.

  2. Yikes. Our house flooded in 2010 and we had to completely rebuild it, so I know what these people are going through. Samaritan's Purse is also a great charity. They showed up here, rolled up their sleeves, and started working. Since that time, every time a disaster happens, I go straight to them to donate because I saw with my own eyes what they do. The donations Nashville raised weren't given to those who were impacted...they ended up using most of the money to build a new condo complex on the riverfront last year after turning down everyone who applied for having too high a family income ($50,000 or more) to qualify for funds to rebuild...

    1. Most of the houses here are in water up to the roof, and you know when the whole towns are flooded it means that all the sewerage water floods everything too, which means that you have to throw away everything you have and you need special teams to clean the walls and everything... And then the rats and mosquiots and snakes ...... We already have one village swarmed by that pest.... And then possible plague, infections.... It is a horror just to think about it... most people don't even have water, foood, clothes.... And we are an extremely poor country, especially after we were destroyed by US bombs back in 1999 so we really do not have money to rebuilt the country.... And the ruined powerplants and mines.... those will take decades to fix and half of the country depends on them

  3. Such a tragedy. Flooding is a catastrophe. Takes so long to recover and rebuild. The news is out worldwide now, though, so hopefully help is making its way to those who need it.

    1. it's an absolute catastrophe.... Since the water was up to the roofs... when it recedes imagine all the work in washing up the streets, the houses, the walls, everything.... There are already swarms of mosquitoes and rats and snakes ..... True horror ....And the organisation of our government is horrible.... can you believe that volunteers who went in thousands to build defences in other cities didn't even get food, water, nor transport to get back....It is just ridiculous... And the city which suffered the most didn't even hear the emergency sirens until the flooding wave was already hitting the town even though the mayor was informed about the flood hours and hours before...

  5. Oh yes, we are horrified by the terrible footage being shown here on CBC news and other outlets as well. The flooding is SO huge and devastating! The Canadian Red Cross has started a special Balkan Flood Relief campaign to raise money so I've donated directly to them. The Canadian government is kicking in money too. We are all sending our thoughts and prayers to the people of Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia. I hope you are far from the floods, Dezzy!

    1. Thanks for donating money, dear! It is good to donate directly to Red Cross because in that way the politicians cannot steal the money!

I am, I'm up in the North and we have no rivers in my city.

  6. Oh Dezzy, such heartbreaking photos. And then of course you have the political upheaval to deal with too.

I will give what I can. Take good care of yourself.

    1. thanks, dear, it's the least we can do, since we are not rich enough to donate millions..... Even ten or five bucks can buy bread to some of the survivors who literally have nothing, most of them escaped with only the clothes they had on them....
