DOUG LIMAN TO DIRECT
TOM HARDY IN 'SPLINTER CELL'
According to 'Deadline' action movie director Doug Liman, who is no stranger to spy thrillers and movies about super agents, will helm the movie adaptation of popular video game SPLINTER CELL which already has Tom Hardy in the lead role playing Sam Fisher, a highly-trained special operative in a fictional black-ops sub-division, “Echelon”. Sam Fisher and the agents of Echelon utilize combat skills, weapons and cutting-edge gadgets to neutralize international terrorist threats and rogue forces in modern, realistic stories ripped from the headlines. Hardy and Liman are already working on another mutual project - EVEREST movie on a famous mounting scaling expedition.

DESMOND HARRINGTON JOINS
ABC'S ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB
One of our favourite television faces Desmond Harrington has joined ABC's upcoming new series ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB which will air over summer in ten episodes. Based on the novel by Lily Koppel  it tells the real story of the women who stood beside the American astronauts during the height of the space race. Harrington will play Alan Shepherd, one of the Mercury 7 astronauts and the first American in space. The series will also star Odette Annable, Zoe Boyle, Joanna Garcia...
BILLY CRYSTAL RETURNS TO TV
And after the recently announced return of Bill Cosby to TV, and recent returns of Robin Williams and KIRSTIE comedy legends to the small screens, and with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin also taking a gig on TV, another comedy veteran to do a sitcom is Billy Crystal: FX has picked up his THE COMEDIANS comedy show for a whole series. Crystal will play a superstar veteran comedian who is reluctantly paired with a younger, edgier comic (Josh Gad) for a late-night comedy sketch show!

    1. she and Fonda will probably make a hilarious duo! I like the return of old stars to comedy series! It's sad that after Crystal, Cosby, Tim Allen, Kirstie Alley, Fran Drescher... we never actually got a new generation of good comedians so they all have to come back from the retirement

  2. I was never a big Bill Cosby or Billy Crystal fan (outside The Princess Bride, of course), but it was nice to see Robin Williams enjoy something of a return to form, rather than being wasted in family friendly movies. It's a shame The Crazy Ones didn't get renewed for a second season, because I thought it really hit its stride over the last few episodes.

    1. I adore Robin, but the new sitcom wasn't overly appealing to me... he was amazing in it, and so was the rest of the cast, but the first three or four episodes lost me. But I do like the trend of returning old comedians to TV, they usually bring back the quality.

  3. Tom Hardy will make people forget that it is based on a video game. My dancing skills in high school were unmatched...I turned the Hammer into the Cleaver. I'm a legend in my own mind.

  4. I hope the videogame adaptation works. There haven't been a lot of really success ones, have there?

And those dancers! To be able to move like that! Wow.

    1. I watched STRICTLY COME DANCING years and years ago while we still had BBC on the cable. I check out US version over at YouTube when someone I adore competes, as was the case with Nicole Scherzinger (check her dancing tango at YouTube), my beloved singer. Serbian version begins next week actually but our competitors will probably suck big time. I adored Croatian version of it.

    2. Interesting that one show, can travel so many countries. As in the cookery shows. I like that.

    3. it is. And it's fun watching them, the dance, the musical, the cooking ones, because they often have better competitors in foreign editions.
We're recently had Serbian version of YOUR FACE SOUNDS FAMILIAR in which famous people imitate their singing colleagues :) Check out our pop star Ana Kokic who won imitating Pink in a breathtaking number: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgh82F-hCU0

    3. It's strange, but I'm kinda having the same feelings about my doomed health as you are, Blue. Just as with your damned sarcosis, my heart has had too much trouble to undergo and survive, and it needs medications. I've no idea how long it will keep serving me... Wish the two of us weren't so blue... Blue!
