LILY COLLINS IN 'HOW TO BE SINGLE'! JENNIFER LAWRENCE IN 'EAST OF EDEN' REMAKE! GERARD BUTLER & LUKE BRACEY IN 'POINT BREAK' REMAKE! JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT 'TO WALK THE CLOUDS'!

LILY COLLINS
TO LEARN 'HOW TO BE SINGLE'
Tones of casting news today, people! Starting with the most adorable Lily Collins (MIRROR MIRROR, MORTAL INSTRUMENTS) who is apparently in negotiations to star in HOW TO BE SINGLE! According to 'The Hollywood Reporter' the movie will be a romantic comedy consisting of multiple love stories based on the book by Liz Tuccillo. The movie will follow the love lives and breakups of a group of New Yorkers over the course of a decade. Drew Barrymore is producing.

JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT
'TO WALK THE CLOUDS'
Deadline writes that Joseph Gordon Levitt will star in TO WALK THE CLOUDS movie to be directed by Robert Zemeckis. To be shot in 3D like AVATAR and LIFE OF PI, the movie will revolve around French tightrope walker, Philippe Petit. The daring high-wire artist is the focus of the story which describes how he and his co-conspirators ascended the World Trade Center in 1974 to make his famous trek between the two towers.
JENNIFER LAWRENCE IN 'EAST OF EDEN'
Meanwhile, a new big screen adaptation of famous novel EAST OF EDEN by John Steinbeck is moving forward with Jennifer Lawrence in the cast. Gary Ross (SEABISCUIT, PLEASANTVILLE, HUNGER GAMES) will both write and direct the movie  which, set in California's Salinas Valley before World War I,  tells the story of two families over the course of two generations, loosely alluding to the biblical tale of Cain and Abel, focusing on a father, his two sons, and the children's mother, whom they thought was dead. Jennifer Lawrence will play the mother.

'POINT BREAK' REMAKE
LUKE BRACEY & GERARD BUTLER
Although most people think that the remake of a rather forgettable movie is an ever worse form of any other remake, the one on POINT BREAK is still happening! The 1991 action movie directed by Kathryn Bigelow which starred Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves will get a new version following a young undercover FBI agent who infiltrates a gang of thieves who share a common interest in extreme sports. Gerard Butler is already attached to star and now he will be joined by Luke Bracey (GI JOE RETALIATION) who will play the young FBI agent. Butler portrays Bodhi who seeks nirvana by living on the edge, and is responsible for inducting the undercover agent into the criminal circle.

    1. they probably wouldn't like the book, Steinback is a bit difficult to read like most other of the 20th century American writers.

  2. Wonder how the new Point Break will do.

Never used mineral water before. But I do love many combinations of wholemeal flours.

    1. Mineral or sparkling water, whatever you call it, is good in baking in making dough and in pancakes too :) And also when you make cheese pies with filo pastry. It has something in it that has the effect of yeast or baking powder :)

    2. I heard a baker using seltzer in her cupcakes as well. Funny how we can play with all of these liquids.

Currently, I'm playing with coconut oils. So much fun. Been wanting to use them for a long time but the cost kept me away. Then I found a coupon.

    3. I often use it in my scones because I don't drink milk and never have it in my fridge, and it's easier having a few small bottles of sparkling water in my pantry for such occasions :) I use either that or yoghurt... just put some flour, oil or butter and knead the dough in seconds :)

We don't have coconut oil here. Predominant oil here is sunflower oil and very expensive olive oil.

    4. Just sent you an email. Yes, we have all of those same waters here but I've only used the carbonated for making my own homemade pineapple pop, one time. I'm not a fan of carbonated or fizzy drinks.

All my bakes are with local spring water. But before that, it was our own well water - only the well got closed so back to local spring water.

Olive oil here comes with sales and coupons, otherwise I would not be able to bake with it. Extra virgin comes with sales and coupons too, and that oil, I like for dressing a salad.

    5. Yep, olive oil is about ten times more expensive than sunflower oil which most of use here since Vojvodina is one of the biggest producers of sunflower oil and margarine in Europe. We bake with margarine too since butter is so expensive that I only ate it two or three times in my life LOL

    6. Butter goes up and down in my area. Sometimes it's so killer low and other times, forget it. Just too high. Around the holidays, they really lower the price so I try and stock up and freeze some. Though I'll soon be making my own organic butter from cream - just to see how it tastes.

  3. Break Point is hardly a classic - more a guilty pleasure than anything - but Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves are going to be really hard to top.

    1. my thought exactly... why would anybody do a remake of something that should've not been made in the first place? :)

  5. I have to scream WTF!? on a Point Break Remake! Why? I think it's time to fire all the crap writers in Hollywood and bring in some people with new and fresh ideas. Quick recycling the same garbage over and over.

On a different note, I do love Jennifer Lawrence, so East of Eden is high on my list!

    1. I'm scared to think that our movie lives will turn into circles in which we shall only watch movie remakes every ten years :(

    1. If it is in 3D I bet he does, or he has a sad backstory where someone he loves plumeths.
I feel very sadistic today :-)

    2. it will be interesting to see how they managed to bring in and put on the tight rope over at the building since they didn't have the license for it.

  7. Hard to understand the point of remaking Point Break, but Luke Bracey does help the news go down better. :))

  8. I'm so grateful I can see pretty much normal again, Dezzy. I tell yah, your blog is the single one place that makes me aware of what I'd almost lost. I mean.... Lily Collins. But multiple love stories... I don't know, Dezz. I hope it isn't a boring movie.

    1. how can it be boring with Lily, the sweetest of lilies? I always wonder how on earth she managed to grow so pretty in the garden of papa Collins?

    2. I can hear her calling in the air tonight... Oh sorry, I was miles away, dreaming. How she turned out so fine and foxy? Beats me, Dezzmeister. People always ask my Mom how come he's so ugly? It's a cruel world full of mysteries.

    4. 'tis true for me too, Blue. But the other way around :) People always think me was adopted because I'm total opposite of my parents (Even physically).

      Delete
    5. The other way around. That figures. Well, at least we're both opposites of other people. Just don't mention any overstretched kaginas and vampires anymore, please.

    6. pffttt... said by somebody who won't stop talking about beaver glands.....

    7. But I stopped talking about beaver glands months ago. But I did watch American Masterchef the other day and this weirdo had prepared a delicious beaver tail, or so he said. I'd take the glands any day. Want some ice cream?

    8. Say what, say what? A real tail? Wait... I don't want to know!

They better do East of Eden right. Steinbeck is one of my favourite authors.

    1. he is? I didn't know that, dear. I generally don't like American writers of the 20th century and it was a torture when I had an exam on them at college, but not as horrible as my 20th century female authors exam :( Methinks that most of those writers were eating crazy shrooms and that they were too bored in their lives :)

  13. Most in the mood for East Of Eden. Anything based on books has my interest.
