CHANNING TATUM & ZOE SALDANA IN GUILLERMO DEL TORO'S 'BOOK OF LIFE'! OLGA KURYLENKO JOINS RUSSELL CROWE IN WWI SWEEPING DRAMA 'THE WATER DIVINER'! BEN WHISHAW TO STAR IN FREDDIE MERCURY BIOPIC?

OLGA KURYLENKO JOINS
RUSSELL CROWE IN WW1 EPIC 'THE WATER DIVINER'
After getting Amanda Seyfried for his costar in FATHERS AND DAUGHTERS drama earlier this weekend, Russell Crowe has found yet another gorgeous lady to star with him in another of his upcoming films. "The Hollywood Reporter' writes that stunning Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko will join him in THE WATER DIVINER, which will also be Russell's directorial debut. The historical drama is an epic adventure and an emotional story set soon after the end of World War I in the sweeping landscape when an Australian father arrives in Turkey in search of his three sons, supposedly lost in the legendary battle of Gallipoli. You will also see Olga soon in EMPIRES OF THE DEEP as the underwater empress and also in VAMPIRE ACADEMY.
DEZZY'S HISTORY LESSON
Gallipoli Battle was one of the biggest allied losses. It was fought by British and French armies battling for the city of Istanbul and the Gallipoli peninsula against the Ottoman forces. The aim was to secure a sea route to Russia. Many Australian and New Zealand soldiers fought as well and the campaign is often considered to mark the birth of national consciousness in those two countries.

BEN WHISHAW TO PLAY
QUEEN'S FREDDIE MERCURY?
And after previous rumours that Dominic Cooper could take the lead role in the biopic on famous FREDDIE MERCURY, the late singer of the legendary pop band Queen, we have new ones: the word has it that the new candidate for the role is Ben Whishaw from SKYFALL, PERFUME and HOLLOW CROWN. The members of Queen see the young British actor as their personal favourite to play their band leader who died of AIDS after giving the world some of the most famous pop classics from WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY to WE WANT IT ALL and I WANT TO BREAK FREE.

'BOOK OF LIFE' GETS
CHANNING TATUM & ZOE SALDANA
New 20th Century Fox animated movie to be produced by Guillermo del Toro BOOK OF LIFE is rounding up its voice cast. Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Placido Domingo and Christina Applegate, along with Diego Luna, are the latest voices which will be heard in the story describing the journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds, where he must face his greatest fears. 'The Hollywood Reporter' writes that not only the film will have unique visual style, but it will also use famous pop songs in a fresh way.

I watched HOLLOW CROWN only first two parts, and then couldn't finish the rest.... too long, too drawn out, too difficult for my little brain :(

  5. Okay, I absolutely LOVE Freddie Mercury so when I see this film this guy better be up to the task or I will be miffed. I think that's one of the things any actor playing such a huge role will have to look out for are fans like me who will be uber critical of how he plays the role.
