MINDBLOWINGLY EPIC "300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE" TRAILER! NAOMI WATTS IS PRINCESS OF WALES IN FIRST "DIANA" TEASER! "SPLINTER CELL", "ASSASSINS CREED", "GHOST RECON" MOVIE ADAPTATIONS WITH MICHAEL FASSBENDER, TOM HARDY, MICHAEL BAY

  300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE
 FIRST MINDBLOWING TRAILER
The earth shattering, mind blowing and crazily stunning first trailer for this year's biggest epic adventure 300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE is finally here and you can watch it in all its glory! Queen Gorgo of Sparta seeking revenge, outrageously lavish palace of Xerxes, Artemisia in unbelievable costumes flinging arrows, horses jumping over stormy waves and glorious naval battles are just some of the awe-striking things you can see in the trailer! After its victory over the famous Spartan king Leonidas' 300 brave warriors who sacrificed their lives to save the country, the Persian Army under the command of infamous tyrant Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) marches south towards the major Greek city-states. The Democratic city of Athens, first on the path of Xerxes' army, bases its strength on its fleet, led by admiral Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton). Themistocles is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, oligarchic Sparta whose might lies with its superior infantry troops. But Xerxes still reigns supreme in numbers over sea and land. Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel "Xerxes", and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster
“300” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield — on the sea — as Greek general Themistokles attempts to

unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. 300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy. The film is out next March and you can read more about it in our extensive spotlight!

  VIDEO GAMES ADAPTATIONS
ASSASSINS CREED, SPLINTER CELL AND GHOST RECON
If you're into movie adaptations of famous video games here are a few updates. First, Frank Marshall (WAR HORSE) will produce the movie adaptation of ASSASSINS CREED movie version in which Michael Fassbender will play a hunter on legendary artefacts who uses a device which gives him the memories and skills of all of his ancestors. Other Ubisoft's game SPLINTER CELL will have Basil Iwanyk (WRATH OF THE TITANS) as the producer with Tom Hardy playing an agent of an elite division Echelon who eliminates threats around the world. Meanwhile Michael Bay will produce GHOST RECON adaptation. That one has pretty much the same plot as SPLINTER CELL - special forces cleaning up the world from terrorists (or at least the government says so if you're naive enough to believe it).

DIANA TRAILER
WITH NAOMI WATTS
In the trailer department today check out the first teaser for upcoming new drama DIANA which follows a part of late Princess Diana's life. Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, and starring Naomi Watts  the film depicts a secret affair that Princess Diana had shortly before her tragic death. Naveen Andrews appears as Dr. Hasnat Khan, the Pakistani heart surgeon Diana dated before meeting Dodi Fayed. The film is out in UK this September.

  4. After the trailer for THE HOBBIT, neither of these looks interesting to m. As far as DIANA goes, I'm not interested in it, only because it seems unnecessarily exploitative, and less like a biopic than it should be.

  5. so if they had a mini spartan, would be 300 and a half? i am not sure i am a fan enough for watts to play a princess, i had a hard enough time seeing her get thrown around by the giant ape...

    1. yep, she's not a likable actress, too cold and expressionless.

    2. if she were a robot princess maybe, then yes...

    3. and Nicole Kidman could play her robot partner :) Interesting how, Kidman, who is her best friend in private life, also plays a warm and graceful princess (GRACE OF MONACO) even though she too has no warmth in her.

  6. 300 Rise of an Empire looks like something my husband would enjoy - lots of blood and violence! I'd probably enjoy the Diana movie. I was wondering when they'd make a movie about her, but I'm a little curious about how Naomi Watts would be in the part.

    1. yep, and it seems they've even outdone 300 in the visual department in this sequel! Breathtaking!

  8. Many adored her, Dezz, and they didn't even know her. Why is it that we need someone to look up to who we don't even know like our parents or a big sister? Sheep is what springs to mind. And now a movie. I don't know. I guess I'd rather see the Hobbit. Who would've thought, right? ;)

    1. Yep, and many thought she was the victim within the royal family, but nobody wonders how difficult it was for the queen Lizzie to deal with someone who used media in such a way like Diana did.

    2. All I know is you never know anyone, especially people who are adored by those who want someone to look up to. In my book that's how all religions started.

  11. The trailer of 300 is awesome but its too gory for me Dezzy ~ I am not sure of the Diana movie as I am one of those who was so sad when she died ~

    1. yep, but it is so revolutionary visually, that I just have to watch it, and the goriness in this case is historical, not so much entertaining.

  14. Great films all around, but for Diana. Not a fan of Naomi and can't see her as the late princess, whom I adored and cried when she died. She was the first princess I had ever seen on television and I hated what Charles and the family did to her. I adore her boys, too.

And I am so on board for another 300. HOT!!

    1. What did they do to her? If I recall correctly she cheated on him more than once. Not that I ever liked Charles, but she wasn't an angel either. Meanwhile, Elizabeth had to deal with the chaos Diana always raised in media which she always used to gain personal popularity.
Meanwhile, Harry is an immature brat of a kid (even though he's not a kid anymore) and Wills goes around the world with the army which kills innocent people and spreads terror in invaded lands.

We are ever so excited for 300, it will be an event of the spring next year :)

    2. I agree with your comment on Diana - I bet they avoid the first affair with Hewitt like the plague tho (the ginger Guards officer who... looks... a lot like... Harry???) She certainly was manipulative but that has to be balanced by the number of good things she did too like her championing causes unpopular at the time - who can forget her cuddling little kids dying from HIV when there was such hysteria about AIDS? Still, I think our Naomi is a good actress but I just can't see her as Diana - I dunno perhaps its just the lack of physical resemblance - but I doubt she can pull it off the way Dame Helen did playing the Queen!

BTW - the British in Afghanistan did not invade nor do they spread terror - they DO protect local people from the fanatical Muslim Taliban who do. The humanitarian mission the Brit army (and those of over 40 other countries) do there - schools, clinics etc, does not get publicised which is a pity because if the Brits didn't guard the schools and clinics they helped build, the disgusting Taliban would murder any innocent Afghans that tried to use them. Worth considering before you accuse Prince Harry and the British Army.

    3. yep, she had good sides too, and it wasn't easy for her either being in such a spotlight limited with such tight rules.
Helen was outstanding as the Queen and that film gave us such interesting new insights and viewpoints. Naomi as Diana and her friend Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly just don't work - they don't have the grace and elegance for it.

I accused Wills not Harry, but it's the same since they're both in the army. I'm not saying that Western army forces don't do some good there too, I'm sure they do. But let us not forget all the kids and innocent people who were killed there and elsewhere by their snipers, bombs, landmine, all those pictures of Afganistani or Iraqi wedding parties turned into bloodshed when US or UK squads drop bombs on them thinking those were Talibans. And let us also not forget that if Western news channels tell you that somebody is a Taliban and worth being killed, it doesn't mean that really is a Taliban. Words like Taliban and terrorist are often used by Western media and governments to cover up slaughter done for the sake of new colonialism and exploitation.
Take my country as example - when the US and UK and NATO bombed us they called it a mission of "Merciful Angel" but they were actually killing civilians, destroying modern cities, hospitals, schools, factories.... and why? So that ten years after the private companies of their generals and politicians could come down to Kosovo and earn money there or steal money there. Madlen Albright's private company almost bought Kosovo telecom for cheap money and she was the one leading the attack on Serbia together with Clintons.
So, protecting people is usually a minor goal for Western invaders used just to blind their own nations back home.
