"THE LAST SHIP" APOCALYPTIC SHOW TRAILER WITH ERIC DANE, RHONA MITRA! BEYONCE'S "RISE UP" SONG FOR "EPIC" MOVIE! ANDREW GARFIELD IN MARTIN SCORSESE'S ASIAN EPIC "SILENCE"

  BEYONCE SINGS
'RISE UP' SONG  FOR "EPIC" ANIMATED MOVIE
I don't know about you but I really miss movie songs following new movies, some of the best pop songs have come to us that way from Celine Dion's TITANIC song "My Heart Will Go On" to Leona Lewis' "I See You" for AVATAR, to Enya's "May It Be" for LORD OF THE RINGS. Adele's recent "Skyfall" and Mariah Carey's recent hit "Almost Home" for OZ GREAT AND POWERFUL might bring back this lovely trend especially since Beyonce has just announced that this month she will release new song "Rise Up" to promote the upcoming enchanting animated tale EPIC which hits cinemas from May 24th! Beyonce has co-written this song with Sia, for the film in which she lends her voice to forest queen Tara, the ruler of the magical world of the leafmen! Also starring Collin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried and Jason Sudeikis the film tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil.

  ANDREW GARFIELD
IN SCORSESE'S 'SILENCE' EPIC
Now this is a strange casting choice: SPIDERMAN's Andrew Garfield is to ditch his modern geek looks and go to the 17th century. According to "Variety" he will join Ken Watanabe in Martin Scorsese directed epic movie SILENCE. The big screen adaptation of Shusaku Endo's novel has a story set in the 17th Century, and following Father Rodrigues (Andrew Garfield), a Portuguese Jesuit priest who travels to Japan to confront his mentor, after rumours surfaced that he had abandoned the church. Ken Watanabe will portray Father Rodrigues' Japanese interpreter. Don't forget that another modern star whom we cannot imagine in ancient outfits, Keanu Reeves, will also go to ancient China in 47 RONIN epic later this year.

  THE LAST SHIP EPIC SHOW
 FIRST APOCALYPTIC TRAILER
One of this years pilots that I've announced a couple of times has been officially greenlit for the whole season: Michael Bay's THE LAST SHIP will get ten episode season at TNT! With the cast lead by dashing "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane alongside stunning Rhona Mitra ("Underworld"), Adam Baldwin ("Firefly") and Tracy Middendorf ("Boardwalk Empire"), the story of the new show centres on a post-apocalyptic world, in which the global population is almost entirely destroyed. The crew and captain of the ship, who have not succumbed to the tragedy, must face life as some of the only survivors on Earth. Dane plays the captain, while Rhona is a scientist who is trying to find the cure for the virus which has destroyed the rest of the world. The show will hit small screens summer 2014! Check out the first exciting trailer:

    1. I put lemon in the ship's muffins so that you wouldn't get scorbut like other sailors!

  3. The Last Ship thing sounds way to Noah's Arky to me. I might skip it if it has all the Biblical overtones I expect it to have done in clever allegory that most will never pick out but which irritate the shit out of me. I mean the obvious set up is (ship carrying the last human life on earth) right there with Noah, albeit, they're skipping the whole "flood" motif but let's face it, the flood is just a vehicle for absolute destruction.

I love Beyonce's video she did for Pepsi.

    1. You mean you will skip a show with McSteamy from GREY'S ANATOMY? I'm shocked and appalled, Mikey! Shame on you, shame on you!

  5. Looking forward to The Last Ship. I picked up a used hardcover copy of the novel this winter, so I'll be looking to see how the TV adaptation compares.

  7. "Silence" sounds wonderful -- I hope the Jesuit in Japan abandoned his faith for Buddhism -- that would make for a provocative historical movie!

  8. I am so over Beyonce. She's way too full of herself now, I actually think she's smoking the same stuff her ugly husband is. The sooner she gets divorced, the better. LOL

The Last Ship sounds really cool, I love Adam Baldwin, don't know too much about Eric Dane other than him being Mr. Rebecca Gayheart. Never really watched Grey's.

    1. that she is, she pretty much ruined herself after marring that horrid person, and even naming her new world tour (which started here in Belgrade) MRS. CARTER SHOW is deeply disgusting and disrespectful towards her career and her fans - she's not a wife, she's a star. Not to mention how he ruined her music - from SURVIVOR, INDEPENDENT WOMEN and SAY MY NAME she went to noisy garbage like RING THE ALARM or RULE THE WORLD (which has three of four words in the whole lyrics).

  9. Agreed Melissa on Beyonce and Jay Z!!!! They think they rule the world.

    1. could be fun depends on the direction the show takes after the first episode. If it's army crap they won't have me in front of the telly, but if it's suspense survival show and saving of the other people then it could be good

  11. Yup. The Last Ship gets my vote cuz I do love scifi but I agree that if it's all army and fighting it will lose my interest fast.

  15. It really is too bad about Beyonce. She has a good set of pipes on her and she was so beautiful. Fame can ruin a person. She and Whitney Houston are good examples of how it can take potential and turn into ruin.

  19. Rise up... Well, when I see that pic of Beyonce, something's definitely a-stirring. :p But seriously, I'm not joking either.
Yesterday I saw a movie about the 16th century... Restoration I think it was called. Wouldn't want to have been born in that era. I could do with a wig, though.

    1. yes, we already know your mojo works on the ladies of darker skin :))
You do know that back in those ages they didn't bathe at all just used tones of powder on themselves... imagine the aroma at the courts :) Earlier, before that, Queen Bess was considered a purist for bathing two or three times a year :)
