HECTOR AND SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS
Here's yet another interesting ensemble film: Deadline reported last
week that Peter Chelsom will direct romantic comedy HECTOR AND THE
SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS in which the story follows a psychiatrist as he
searches the globe for the definition of happiness. With amazing Toni Collette and Jean Reno leading the cast, the film will also have Simon Pegg, who will play Hector, an eccentric London psychiatrist in crisis, Rosamund Pike (you've seen her last year as the queen in WRATH OF THE TITANS) Stellan Skarsgård and legendary Christopher Plummer!

SABOTEURS WW2 SERIES
In today's news from the epic front we have new historical series on
horizon: Tony Krantz (the son of famous novelist Judith Krantz and the
producer of NBC's new epic show DRACULA with Jonathan Rhys Meyers) will
helm and produce and write SABOTEURS, new, European produced, TV show
about the underground resistance in Nazi occupied Paris during World War
II. It is set in the early
months of WWII, before the U.S. got involved following the attack on
Pearl Harbor. The cell consists of regular people with no training or
experience who decide to fight back. SABOTEURS is an action thriller
chronicling their adventures as resistance fighters with a mix of Nazis,
traitors, regular people and Americans. The project should start
shooting after they find a partner in one of the US cable networks!
'MAD SCIENTIST' FILM ABOUT NIKOLA TESLA
Silvermask Productions and North Shore Pictures have teamed up to
produce director Michael Anton’s Nikola Tesla movie THE MAD SCIENTIST.
The
film is set to shoot in Pittsburgh in late August of this year.
After weeks of anticipation Michael Anton has selected deeply magnetic
Serbian actor Branko Tomovic (THE BOURNE IDENTITY, POPE JOAN, THE
WOLFMAN) to play famous Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla in this biopic.

stepped foot on American soil in 1884 to his final days living alone in
his New York Hotel room. The film follows Nikola Tesla from his battles
with Thomas Edison and JP Morgan to his friendships with Mark Twain and
George Westinghouse. Nikola Tesla battled the strong arm of American

Kellan has a great body, but I think he's a little small for Hercules. I mean...when I think of Hercules I think of absolute strength capable of lifting the Earth itself! Didn't he hold up the Earth once while Atlas went and fetched him something? They need a bigger actor. Dwayne Johnson comes to mind.

DeleteThe Mad Scientist sounds like an interesting movie - that's one I would definitely see. I like a good scientific historical biopic. The last really decent one I can recall is Paul Bettany's turn as Darwin in Creation.
ReplyDeleteTesla also has another rival project which will likely have Christian Bale and Nicolas Cage in the roles of Tesla and Edison, but that one has been on a hiatus for a long time.

ReplyDeleteHe was. Belgrade Airport is named Nikola Tesla in his honour :) Einstein's wife, Mileva, was also Serbian, and many people believe she stood behind many of his theories :)

ReplyDeleteDwayne's project is going to beat out Kellan's. Why? Because Kellan's is a stupid love story. Hercules for the Twilight crowd. Plus he has less than half the talent and looks of the Rock. You should have put up a pic of Dwayne. ;)

I must confess that Kellan didn't wow me in IMMORTALS but I still won't refuse an opportunity to see him in a loin cloth again, you know...... I have my principles :)
