STUNNING POSTERS FOR CW'S NEW SHOWS "ARROW" & "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST"! CIARAN HINDS IS KING BEYOND THE WALL IN "GAME OF THRONES"! LUCY LAWLESS IN "PARKS AND RECREATION"

CW's has released two great posters for their two new shows, the first being  ARROW which has also added TORCHWOOD'S John Barrowman as a "mysterious" and "well-dressed" man. After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in
the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira,  sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante - to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be - flanked by
his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on - and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

TELEVISION HEADLINES
According to "Entertainment Weekly" Ciaran Hinds, whom you remember as the glorious Caesar in one of the best epic series in history
ROME, will return to HBO again since he has just gotten the role of Mance Rayder in GAME OF THRONES. In the third season of the epic show, Ciaran will portray the King Beyond the Wall. In the "Song of Ice and Fire" book series, Rayder broke his vows as a Night's Watch member and went to live with the wildlings, where he was very influential and become their leader. Although Rayder has been mentioned on the first two seasons of "Game of Thrones", he has yet to be seen on the series. The second season ended with Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) being taken to him. Meanwhile, Lucy Lawless, whom we shall miss terribly in SPARTACUS, will have a guest role in PARKS AND RECREATION as a single mother who enlists the help of the Pawnee Parks Department with a neighbourhood dispute.

 BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
The second poster is for another of CW's Fall series BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Detective Catherine Chandler is a smart, no-nonsense homicide detective. Several years earlier, Catherine witnessed the murder of her
mother at the hands of two gunmen. Catherine would have been killed too, but someone - or something - saved her. No one has ever believed her, but she knows it wasn't an animal that attacked the assassins...it was human. Years have passed, and Catherine is a strong, confident, capable police officer. While investigating a murder, Catherine discovers a clue that leads her to a handsome doctor named Vincent Keller, who was reportedly killed by enemy fire while serving in Afghanistan in 2002. Catherine learns that Vincent is actually still alive and that it was he who saved her many years before. For mysterious reasons that have forced him to live outside of traditional society,
Vincent has been in hiding for the past 10 years to guard his secret - when he is enraged, he becomes a terrifying beast, unable to control his super-strength and heightened senses. Catherine agrees to protect his identity in return for any insight he may have into her mother's murder. Thus begins a complex relationship between Catherine and Vincent, who  are powerfully drawn to each other yet understand that their connection is extremely dangerous for both of them. The series stars Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) as Catherine, Jay Ryan (Terra Nova) as Vincent, Max Brown (The Tudors) as Evan.

  1. "Arrow" seems to be interesting: a mix of Batman and Robin Hood!

    2. It's a serie? I thought it was a movie: I've read all the text, but I've missed something... (I'm just a poor frenchie with a poor english language!)

  2. Those are all Irish names in the Arrow-Moira hmmm. An Irish billionaire, it must be fiction!! John Barrowman would be the attraction for me in this. We keep hearing rumors that there's to be another Torchwood and we're re-watching all our Doctor Who shows and just saw some with the people of Torchwood in it. I loved Gwen, she was one of my favorites.

Beauty and the Beast just looks too violent for me and the storyline is a tired one. It would have to have something more to get me interested.

    1. LOL, you mean you don't have tycoons, like we Serbs have? The ones that scoop all the money by using the poor ones? We have them in dozens, darling, wanna import some? :)

TORCHWOOD is being made into a US version, if me remembers correctly ;)

    2. Anne, if it's the pathetic actual Dr Who, he will be ridiculous beside Cap'Jack Harkness and (the lovely) Gwen!

Dezmond: it's a sad reality in all the countries, more on some than the others..

  4. Ok...Arrow sounds pretty intriguing and I will be checking that one out. I have never been able to stand Lucy Lawless (I don't know why), so no thanks.

As for the Beauty and the Beast thing...not sure. I never really got into the first one (and funny story, this guy that my husband works with actually looks like the guy from the first show) and I don't know if this was because I was too young when the original was on. And now it just doesn't appeal to me. Or maybe its because I have a headache and am crabby right now. I just don't know...

  5. Hmm.. Arrow sounds like the one to have the most potential.. it will really depend on the screenwriting I suppose! And the acting... Beauty and the Beast... I want to get excited-- but I have a weird feeling in my tummy it'll flop. What are your thoughts?

    1. can't really predict, sister, CW doesn't have an audience which I know too much, mostly girls and young ladies if I got it right. Maybe they will like the actor and watch it for that. who knows? Depends on the stories within episodes.

  9. At first I was interested in Arrow but now, I don't know, I seem to have lost interest. I think it may be because of all of the super hero flicks that have been out lately. I may need a break from that type of thing.

I'm glad Lawless will have something to turn to after not having Spartucus. Who knows, maybe they will turn it into something more permanent?

    1. yep, we need a big break from super heroes and we need films about real life heroes!
Hope Lucy gets her own show of some cool kind :)

    2. I couldn't agree more Dezzy!! More real life hero's please!!!

    3. yep, reallife stories with inspiring heroes are always much better!

  10. Arrow looks more impressive the more I hear about it. Beast is still not my show. I just don't like the casting and what's the point of having a beast if the guy really isn't beast like. Sorry, but this guy is just not that good looking to me. Now if they had Kit Harrington or Wentworth Miller, but they are doing much bigger and better things. :)

  12. The CW has started to annoy me, but I'm not sure why.

Excited to see John Barrowman in ARROW, but I'm concerned that they're making this BEAUTY & THE BEAST a bit too much like Jekyll & Hyde with the Beast.

  13. In what way is that supposed to be Beauty and the Beast? Meh.

I'm also very reluctant to give anything new a try because nothing lasts more than half a season these days. If something I'm iffy about happens to stick, I'll catch it on Netflix later haha

  14. I love the fall season, not for the changes in the weather, but for all the great upcoming TV shows! Just look at all the new series that are upon us! I am most excited to see how Arrow turns out. The ladies around my office at Dish and I have not stopped checking out that promo poster since we first saw it. Can you blame us when it features a six pack like that?! LOL! I’m definitely going to make a point to watch that show each week. As for the rest of the new series, I am going to have to enlist in the help of my Hopper DVR, which can record up to six things at once, to make sure I don’t miss out on anything. I can do without watching Beauty and the Beast though; it looks like one big cheese-ball of a show.
