DEEPLY MOVING TRAILER FOR DAKOTA FANNING'S & JEREMY IRVINE'S "NOW IS GOOD"! BEN FOSTER & KIRSTEN DUNST IN "RED LIGHT WINTER"! MICHAEL KEATON REPLACES HUGH LAURIE IN "ROBOCOP" REMAKE

Now, here's a rather strange plot: "Variety" reports today that Ben Foster and Kirsten Dunst have joined the cast of RED LIGHT WINTER. The title might give you some sign on the plot, since the story revolves around two New York City friends vacationing in Amsterdam. Their friendship is tested when they both fall for the same prostitute played by Kirsten Dunst. Ben Foster will play one of the guys, a young writer. It is interesting that the roles were previously meant for Billy Crudup and Mark Ruffalo. At the same time, "Deadline" reports that Michael Keaton has replaced Hugh Laurie in the remake of
ROBOCOP and will play the director of the corporation that creates Joel Kinnaman's cyborg cop. Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish and Samuel L. Jackson are also in the cast.

TOUCHING "NOW IS GOOD"
To finish the working week with an inspiring clip, here's the trailer for a film I mentioned before but it is out in cinemas around the world this September and October. NOW IS GOOD is a deeply moving story
about a couple whose love has a time limit even before it really started. Young Dakota Fanning plays Tessa who is seventeen and is passionate about life. Diagnosed with a terminal illness, she determines to use every moment, compiling a catalogue of what normal teenager would experience, including losing her virginity and taking drugs. With the help of her friend, she sets the list in motion. And while her parents and brother each deals with their fear of losing her in their own way, Tessa explores a whole new world, determined to live every day as intensely as possible. Falling in love with Adam
(Jeremy Irvine), her new neighbour, wasn't on the list, but it proves to be the most exhilarating experience of them all. The film is actually an adaptation of the book by Jenny Downham. Live every moment, love every minute is the message of the movie!

  1. Hugh Laurie would have made a good villain, but it'd be interesting having a Batman to play the Robocop baddie.

  2. Hi. You know I couldn't keep away for a whole week...especially when I'm heartbroken about one less Hugh Laurie project....(heavy sigh...)

Ok. Now, I think I can buy Kirsten Dunst playing a whore...for real. And "Now is Good"...Dakota Fanning has never been one of my favorites, but the movie looks pretty good, and they had me as soon as the song by The Flaming Lips started playing....that song gets me every time!

    1. LOL both on Hugh and on Dunst :)
Yep, I'd loved someone else in the film instead of Dakota, there's something very cold about her, but the story is so lovely and we need more of such heartbreaking, heartwarming stories on film.

    2. Come on...you know if you mention Hugh in the title of a post, I'm all in!

As for Ms Dunst..she just strikes me as being a tramp. Why is that?

And yes..that us exactly what it is about Dakota. Perhaps she will warm a little as an adult. It maybe her career will fizzle. I prefer her sister.

    3. she has a sister? I can't remember all American celebrity sisters, too much data :) Kardashians, Olsens, Fannings, Simpsons, and those three Hanson sisters from the90s :)))) Just too much to remember....

    4. Elle Fanning. She was the young lady in Super 8 and was wonderful in Phoebe in Wonderland. And I totally agree...to many families trying to be dynasties. Whatever. Those Hanson sisters had it going on! =D

  4. Dezzy!! I teared up just watching that clip. I don't know if I could sit through that film in a theater (personal policy against public sobbing), but I'll check it out on DVD. I do love Dakota Fanning though. For me, she's adorable and talented without being sickly sweet.

    1. it could be very tear inducing especially since Jeremy seems so nice to her :( I hope the end isn't overly sweet, I think films like this one need to be realistic at least sometimes.

  10. Now is Good will be a tough one to watch for me as my niece died at age 16. She had a heart transplant at age 2 and at the time of her death was the longest living transplant recipient. Her name was Nicky, she knew she would never live to see 21 but she lived her life like she had one to live. She was born with a single chamber heart and that is what killed my son. My cousin JoAnne also was born with a single chamber heart and died just short of 21 years of age (no heart transplant). Life can be horribly difficult, but stories like this show that it is worth the living.

    1. oh, Annzie, I told you many times that you should write a book about your life, it could be one of the most inspiring stories ever told, it could be your great gift to mankind, darling.
One of my aortas in my heart is narrower than it should be, so I understand heart problems. I'm for example unable to run even if I wanted too, and I can die if I catch a terrible cold :)

  12. Now Is Good sounds like a real weeper ala A Walk to Remember and other similar films. Robocop may make some of us cry as well though for other reasons.

  18. I can't believe how much Dakota Fanning has grown! I still remember her as a little kid.

The Amsterdam movie sounds intriguing, even though I'm not a big fan of Kirsten Dunst (although agree with others, seems like a fitting role).
