TRAILER FOR NBC'S "CHICAGO FIRE" WITH JESSE SPENCER! GAEL GARCIA BERNAL IN "NO"! ETHAN HAWKE IN "PREDESTINATION"! HAILEE STEINFELD IN "WHY WE BROKE UP"! RUPERT GRIN IN "THE NECESSARY DEATH OF CHARLIE COUNTRYMAN"

MovieWeb writes that Sony has bought US rights for a film titled NO which got great praise this year at Cannes. The film is based on a true
story: when Chilean military dictator Augusto Pinochet, facing international pressure, calls for a referendum on his presidency in 1988, opposition leaders persuade a brash young advertising executive, Rene Saavedra (Gael GarcĂa Bernal), to spearhead their campaign. With scant resources and constant scrutiny by the president's watchmen, Saavedra and his team devise an audacious plan to win the election and free their country from oppression. Meanwhile, Ethan Hawke will star in PRE- DESTINATION Sony's sf action which follows the life of a time travelling government agent sent on a series of time travel journeys designed to stop future killers.
HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
Young Hailee Steinfeld, whom you've seen in TRUE GRIT and who is shooting ROMEO AND JULIET currently, will also star in WHY WE BROKE UP. "Deadline"
reports that she will play a high school sophomore who falls for a senior and captain of the basketball team, and gets caught up in their roller coaster romance. The story unfolds a few weeks after their break-up, when she drops off a letter and a box of mementos on his porch. Another young face, Rupert Grint from HARRY PLOPPER, will star in two new films: he will join Shia LaBeouf in THE NECESSARY DEATH OF CHARLIE COUNTRYMAN where Shia plays the title character who falls for absolutely irresistible girl who's already been claimed by an insanely violent crime boss with a gang of thugs at his disposal. He will also star in CBGB a film about the famous New York club and its impact on the underground music scene. Allan Rickman will play the owner of the club.

Not sure I'd enjoy Chicago Fire much either though, but you never know.

    2. I'm glad I'm not the only person who refused to see Harry Plopper, much less read the horribly written books.

    3. Somebody has to be in the resistance, darling. Somebody has to oppose HARRY PLONKERS, DARK KNIGHT, TWILIGHT and other examples of morbid darkness and absence of talent and vision.

    4. I'll oppose reading Harry Plopper and anything to do with Twilight any day, have to watch Batman though.

  5. Why We Broke Up looks like it might be good, I'm into high school dramas believe it or not. Other than that nothing caught my interest as much as it usually does :( Chicago Fire doesn't seem that good, or at least its not my style.

  7. Glad to see Ron Weasely in a big film. Good to have others view him as another character (though I just called him by his character's name and not real name!)

And Chicago Fire looks HOT. I hope they film in Chicago because I may have to go try to be an extra! :)

    1. that's why she is called Ga Ga :)
I believe she said she doesn't want to take him with her on a year long tour and doesn't want for her music to suffer from her private life. I kinda understand her, and I kinda don't :)

  13. Serbians sure know how to put on a show. I got caught up in the beautiful music and almost forgot to read the post, lol.

Looking at Gael made me feel like a pedophile. He seems so young . .

And I don't care what you say Dezzy, I'm glad to see the Plopper stars gettiing good roles :)

Time traveling themes are getting a bit over-used, but I might have to watch it for Ethan Hawke. I will definitely be watching Chicago Fire. That was an awesome trailer; really showed off the characters and the conflicts.

Thanks for sharing these Dez :) I missed ya while I was out.

    1. thanks, Donnzie, that's means a lot to me, I'm extremely excited about our performance at the Eurosong finals this Saturday. The vlip is from the semifinals on Tuesday. I think we have huge chances to win again! We certainly have the most powerful song in the sea of trashy pop hits. I will be writing more about this tonight in my post!

Gael is not that young, although he seems like he is :) I think he's about my age or even older.

  14. Oh hell to the yeah, Chicago Fire is on my must see list! You know all those guys are hot and not just cuz they fight fires. ;) We have a hot fireman here in my hood. Victor..Now there is a tasty treat. LOL

That picture of Rupert is stunning. I've never seen him look so good. I can't wait to read more on CBGB.

    1. oh, a fireman named Victor.... sounds very naughty :) Reminds me of Victor Webster and his constant nakedness :) Google him!

I was surprised by Rupert's pic too. he is so lovely in it, and he is not generally a gorgeous guy, although we do love ginger spice :)

    2. Victor Webster is the ultimate in HOT. Yowza, baby! I have loved him since Mutant X television show and whoa does he need to work more. ;))

  18. The news show about firemen looks rubbish XD
Did Jesse Spencer kinda drop his australian accent?

I'm happy for Rupert Grint, he's a good actor (better than Dan Radcliffe ^^)

  19. It'll be interesting to see how the main young Harry Potter stars get on now that the franchise is over. I always thought Tom Felton had the most potential and his new film looks like it could give him a worthy character to play. Daniel Radcliffe has shown his diversity already and I do think Rupert Grint has potential, particularly, for comedic roles.

    1. I must admit I don't like any of the young actors from PLOPPER saga. They just don't have talent nor charisma. The girl especially.

  21. You know I won't have cable in my home because of all the horrid things that are shown on telly these days so I won't be able to see Chicago Fire until Netflix carries it. The men are stunning to look at though, hmmmmm good eye candy.

I may watch CBGB, but I'd have to see a trailer first. Hollywood has a way of mucking up movies about music history and I can rarely stand to watch them

After the rash of violent movies for teens, a high school romance looks refreshing. I just hope the captain of the basketball team isn't like so many high school American athletes in real life. They are so revered that they can drink, do drugs and get failing grades and the schools don't mind. They usually get a couple of girls pregnant before they graduate too. If Hollywood lies on this one and people believe it, they should win an Oscar.

    1. CHICAGO FIRE could be good, not just as eyecandy fest, but as a show which might give us an insight on people who selflessly put their lives in danger to save others. I'm sure there will be touching stories which will bring more respect and love for all firemen and firewomen if there are such.

It's true, high school jocks are usually like that.
