CAST FOR NEW SF SHOW "DEFIANCE" REVEALED! ABBEY LEE KERSHAW JOINS TOM HARDY & CHARLIZE THERON IN "MAD MAX FURY ROAD"! SF BESTSELLER "THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO" GETS MOVIE ADAPTATION!

As Australian "Daily Telegraph" reports supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw is replacing gorgeous Teresa Palmer in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, due to constant delays of the production. The complex and expensive film (there were talks that it will cost around $100 million) should finally start shooting later this year. The fourth part of the famous saga, directed by George Miller will have Tom Hardy in the lead role and Charlize Theron as Furiosa, a one armed warrior lady. Since the story is again set in a post-apocalyptic world, women, especially beautiful women, are scarce, so men have been locking them up in cages (I'm shocked, just as you are), and Abbey will be one of them. Young star Nicholas Hoult (X-MEN FIRST CLASS, JACK THE GIANT KILLER) should also be the part of the cast.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
One of the more interesting of the upcoming TV pilots, SyFy's sf project DEFIANCE is quickly adding cast members so that the shooting of the pilot could start later this April in Canada. According to "Digital Spy" the story, set in a futuristic world ravaged by war between humans and aliens, will follow Jeb Nolan (Grant Bowler from TRUE
BLOOD), law-keeper in the town of Defiance, a burgeoning place which becomes caught up in the global conflict. "Vampire Diaries" star Mia Kirshner will play Kenya, the sassy and confident "town madam". "Lost" actress Fionnula Flanagan will also appear in DEFIANCE as Nicky, the former mayor of Defiance, serving as a mentor to her successor Amanda, played by "Dexter"'s Julie Benz.

Meanwhile, "Deadline" reports today of another sf project: the first book of Patrick Ness' "Chaos Walking" trilogy  titled
THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO will get a movie adaptation over at Lionsgate and it will possibly develop into a film franchise. The story is set in a future where humans are trying to colonize a planet similar to Earth. A bizarre infection known as The Noise spreads throughout the planet, which makes all human thought audible. When a corrupt dictator threatens to take control of civilization, a young boy named Todd Hewitt is the only one who can prevent the planet's complete devastation.

  1. I'm always wary of supermodels turned actors. Can they act? Hmmmm...

Sounds like some great shows are in the works, though. Yay

  4. I have The Knife of Never Letting Go. I haven't read it yet, but I've heard good things.

Mad Max does sound mighty expensive to make!

  5. You really think Mad Max without Mel Gibson or even with Mel Gibson would ever make that kind of money back? That is kind of ridiculous. Julie Benz hmmmm now there is one that almost rivals Kate, may watch just for her.

    2. It worked for me here and it was just at Blabber's mat. But now I'm back of Google too. I told you I would set things right after the penguin man tried to ruin me.

probably not, but people seem to like brutality these days and this one seems to be very brutal ,so who knows... It will probably do better around the world than in USA

    5. Better around then world than in the USA? Aren't they supposed to be the violent ones?

      Delete
    6. I didn't mean the violent side, but the fact that it will be an epic :) Epics always do better around the world.

    7. I love the way you say Epic Dez. It makes me feel all tingly and warm inside.

    8. Hmm do I even want to go there? Such an Epic affair.

  7. There is no way I could watch the Mad Max movie. Women in cages, they've got to be kidding. I'd be willing to check out Defiance though as it's set in Canada and Canada is a beautiful place and a wonderful country full of friendly people.

    1. well, it's not like you wouldn't like a certain Dornan or Eoin caged beside your bed :)))
Yep, friendly people and lots of cats :)

    2. At least one cat that will squash the alliance flat. And Mad Max without Gibson, pfft screw that.

    3. Annzie, look how ebil he is, we're giving compliments to his country and I even add his feliness in the comment, and he attacks us?!? Ebil, ebil, pure ebil!

    4. @Cat
"Screw"? Are you sure it's not your mating season, cat? Such expressions and words....

      Delete
    5. I would chain either one of those men to my bed and use them till they couldn't walk. But that's different, because they're men and would love to be made into sex slaves.

Cat you've just proven that the Alliance has justification for eliminating you from the planet. Next time I'll say Canada is fabulous, but too bad there's an arse licking cat that screws it all up.

      Delete
    6. that's true, most men wouldn't really complain LOL
The cat just has to screw up any truce... I shouldn't have said "screw", it will make him horny again....

    7. I think he experiences severe sexual frustration because he's been snip snipped. Just because the removed his bollox doesn't mean he doesn't have urges. He's just confused about what they are and is tormented by them. We should send him naughty pictures of female felines and the sit back and watch his head explode.

      Delete
    8. lets make it a more devilish plan and send him pics of male felines too :)

      Delete
    9. LOL I say one little word and the alliance goes way out there, you now see why no truce can be had? You have to be stopped more than the cat.

  8. Dezzy - I'll be sure to check out DEFIANCE. It's sic-fi after all, and I love me some sic-fi. How have you been? I've been hunkered down in the writing cave, and barely poke my head out to smell the fresh air, let alone anything else. But I was thinking of you today. Hope you have a great week!

  10. Hi Dezzy! Man, I almost forgot about MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. It's been so long in development hell, but I hope that'll happen as I like Hardy and it'd be great to see him w/ the sultry Charlize.

  16. The Knife of Never Letting Go sounds very interesting (wish they'd shorten the name LOL). And for the life of me, even after I looked up Grant Bowler, I didn't recognize his face at all. Pretty sad for a person who claims to be an avid True Blood fan, huh?

    1. I don't know whom he plays in TRUE BLOOD, Elsie, and can't help you on that one, but I think he is Australian, I believe I've seen him in their projects. Love me Down Under stars!

  19. Oh goody, another Mad Maxx movie. I wonder if it will be as good without Mel Gibson though. Blogger took a long time to scroll past Abby's figure, and all I could think is "it must hurt to be that skinny." She'd make a good mermaid though :)

I was visiting Clarissa a bit ago and followed your music link. That was beautiful. I love how all the musicians slowly appear on stage. The singer has an awesome voice too.

I also clicked on The Ruslan Wild Dance. OMG, they had whips :) lol. But I did enjoy the beat. Who can ignore a good drum song. Now you've got me wanting to spend some time on U-tube, listing to drums, and violins, and Irish folk dance. I'm too busy for that nonsence Dezzy. Please quit distracting me :)

That's our most famous musician Zeljko Joksimovic, he makes elven music filled with profound love and sentiments. True art, we almost always have such elven songs competing in big competitions and we usually get high scores :)
Ruslana actually won over Zeljko that year, and it was one of the biggest scandals. Nobody listens to her yelling now, and Zeljko's song is still the most popular EUROSONG song ever.

Nope, the competition is in May :)
