DWAYNE JOHNSON IS "HERCULES"! CHRISTIAN BALE IS "OUT OF THE FURNACE"! EERIE TRAILER FOR SARAH BOLGER'S & SCOTT SPEEDMAN'S "THE MOTH DIARIES"

One of the biggest pieces of news this weekend was the one coming from MGM who have started negotiations with action super star Dwayne Johnson to take the lead role in their HERCULES epic. To be directed by Brett Ratner, the story, based on graphic novel "Hercules: The Thracian War" by Steve Moore, will see Hercules roaming the earth more than fourteen hundred years ago, as he
amasses a small group of mercenaries to fight other people's wars for pay. He eventually finds himself defending Olympus from an army of the damned. As you might remember this is not the only of Dwayne's upcoming epics, since he is also set to star in DAVID AND GOLIATH alongside Taylor Lautner. This will be a lavish epic on the famous biblical story about young David (Lautner), a shepard who tries to save the lives of his fellow villagers when the massive Goliath (Dwayne) attacks, seeking the legendary king of the Israelites.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
When it comes to one of the globally most popular shows THE WALKING DEAD, which is currently airing its second season, the third season is already being planned with 16 episodes and they have just cast David Morrissey (CENTURION,THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL)
as The Governor, a character from Robert Kirkman 's graphic novel, who is the leader of Woodbury, a small settlement of survivors, and becomes the chief antagonist for Rick Grimes and his group. Meanwhile, according to "The Hollywood Reporter" Christian Bale is in talks to take the role in OUT OF THE FURNACE, a thriller about a man who hopes to find peace after being released from a four year jail stint. His plans for a quite life come to a halt when his brother is murdered and he decides he must set out for revenge.

The only trailer I have for you today is an eerie and scary one for THE MOTH DIARIES which stars gorgeous Sarah Bolger, who amazed us as Princess Marry in THE TUDORS, and Scott Speedman and
super model Lily Cole. This thriller, based on Rachel Klein's book, follows Rebecca who attends an all girl boarding school for tiresome adolescents in an old hotel. Through her friendship with fellow student Lucie, she has learned to re-embrace life, after the suicide of her poet father. However, a spooky new student, Ernessa, arrives and supplants Rebecca in Lucie's affection: Rebecca becomes jealous and decides that Ernessa must be a vampire, as described by her handsome romantic fiction teacher. Staff and students succumb to premature exits of one sort or another and Rebecca becomes more and more convinced of the malevolent and supernatural influence of Ernessa whilst desperately fighting off the urge to kill herself.

  1. Although I don't think I like any of his films I do like The Rock Dwayne Johnson...he has great charisma but it seems best suited to the WWE stage.

    1. he is special, since he has that warmth around him, even though he's an action star :)

  2. Creepy trailer, Dez! Though I don't yet understand the title.

Out of the Furnace sounds like a Christian Bale movie. He does the angry loner type who's seeking revenge really well.

  9. I'm not really a fan of Johnson's work but someone told me that he's quite a good actor.

    That video is freaky!

  10. God! It's directed by Ratner, pffft he'll probably make The Toothfairy look like an oscar worthy movie. How does that guy keep getting work? Must really pucker up to some behinds. I like Hercules stories, but don't hold much hope for this one. The Bale ones sounds okay, but it's been done like 20 times already.

  12. I love the idea of Dwayne as Hercules! Too bad he's playing Goliath opposite Lautner. Taylor is dreadful and the Rock has to lose to him? Oh hell no! ;)

  18. I want to see the Hercules epic and I hope it turns out well. I'm a huge fan of David Morissey and Bale looks simply delicious in that pic. The Moth Diaries, I can't watch that, it's too dark and depressing for me.

  19. I was really excited yesterday morning when I read about David Morrissey as The Governor. That is going to be great. As for Hercules, well...I think The Rock can do it, but he'll need to beef up a whole lot more. It's not enough to be muscular. The bulging muscles make Hercules.

    1. I have a feeling we will hate The Governer :) And just as we thought we would get rid of Shane, a new villain comes :)

  20. hercules and xena were both a blast. campy- but they embraced it.

the rock will be great in the roll...
not sure about the casting of david and goliath though...

and the moth diaries actually looks like it could be really interesting- but did they have to go paranormal with it? seriously, it seems to have enough plot to go it on character and conflict alone, without adding paranormal stuff to up the stakes... stakes... heeheehee

    1. and they were very innovative at the time, XENA especially with her mix of epic and comedy and even modern elements :) And those two shows brought us Karl Urban off course ;)
