trailer last year at HOLLYWOOD SPY's Facebook page,THE EYE OF THE STORM with
Geoffrey Rush has found a distributor for USA where it will be released in April. With quite a powerful cast which also includes other two thespians
Charlotte Rampling and
Judy Davis alongside SPARTACUS: GODS OF ARENA hunky star
Dustin Clare, this interesting and powerful drama is actually a movie adaptation of the 1973 literary classic by Australia's only Nobel Prize-winner for Literature,
Patrick White. It centres around Elizabeth Hunter who controls all in her life - society, her staff, her children; but the once great
beauty will now determine her most defiant act as she chooses her time to die.
THE EYE OF THE STORM is a savage exploration of the family relationships — and the sharp undercurrents of love and hate, comedy and tragedy — which define them. It is interesting that the movie has already won awards at Melbourne and Rome film festivals and has amazing 12 nominations for the upcoming Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts awards for 2012! SOME GIRLS, as a successful writer who, before getting
married, decides to travel across the country to meet his five ex-girlfriends in a series of hotel rooms. He will then also star in
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE which will follow a group of staffers at a design firm who go on an office retreat to a tropical island, where total chaos erupts after they become stranded.
Jean Claude Van Damme will play their power-hungry leader. Adam has also joined
LOVELACE in which he will play an X-rated actor next to
Amanda Seyfreid as Linda Lovelace. The adorkable actor is also everybody's favourite choice for the role of
THE FLASH if that film ever happens.

AMC's hit show
THE WALKING DEAD, which continues airing February 12th, will have 16 episodes in its third season next year! I'm still not sure whether I will continue watching it or not after they've crossed some lines with an explicit killing of a little girl in the December semi-finale!

DeleteWhoa!! Both of these trailers look good. And I love the plots for both, especially the season of the Borgias. Deadly games afoot. ;)
ReplyDeletehope they will keep up the dynamic pace of the second part of the first season and not the boring one from the beginning. And hope they will focus more on the kids and less on the boring pope :)

DeleteI love the Walking Dead, and I hope that AMC spends a little more money so that we can have more walkers per episode. The first part of season 2 didn't have a high body count per episode and was mostly drama of looking for Sophia and waiting for Carl to get better.
ReplyDeleteas far as I remember they said the third season will be even cheaper and most scenes will be shot inside to save the money, so I'm guessing there will not be more walkers.

DeleteThe Eye of the Storm looks magnificent. Adam Brody, not so much. This is a tired storyline. I still haven't seen Season 1 of the Borgia's but it's on my list of things to catch up on this year.

yep, you MUST switch to Firefox, not just for this but because IE is ancient and also not that safe. Firefox is very easy to get used to, don't be afraid.

ReplyDeleteI'm still not sure whether to continue watching it or not. I think such things are very dangerous to the whole society, because once you make things like explicitly killing a child not a taboo anymore, it can easily become something that some viewers will find fun and entertaining. Just as it happen with too much open violence in films making people less sensitive to seeing violence and accepting it in real life as well.

DeleteOne of the better White novels readily adapted to film - and Fred Schepisi is the perfect one to direct it. Rush you know will be brilliant but how good is it to see the great Judy Davis back again and Charlotte Rampling - yet another brilliant actor - what a cast! This is Aussie film making at its very best (which is very good indeed). The film industry here has had a few problems of late - its very difficult to get these sort of films made so this is just the sort of classy tonic it needs! Can't wait!
