CHRIS EVANS IN "MOTOR CITY"! CHRISTIAN BALE IN ZACK SNYDER'S "THE LAST PHOTOGRAPH"! "GAME OF THRONES" GETS ITS YARA GREYJOY & JAQEN H'GHAR! ZACHARY QUINTO IN "THE BANSHEE CHAPTER"!

OK, it seems that after yesterday's lovely ladies post, today we shall have a sort of a hunkfest for my ladies :) Our favourite Spock,
Zachary Quinto will produce and star in THE BANSHEE CHAPTER which will center on a young, female journalist who follows the myste- rious trail of a missing friend who had been experi- menting with mind altering chemicals developed in secret government drug tests. Second season of GAME OF THRONES has two new cast members: Gemma Whelan will play Yara (Asha in the books) Greyjoy, the sister to Theon (Alfie Allen), the
former ward of Ned Stark
. She is described as being a fierce and proud female warrior defying traditional gender roles by commanding her own ship, the Black Wind. German actor Tom Wlaschiha (VALKYRIE, ENEMY AT THE GATES) will play Jaqen H’ghar, a mysterious character, whom little Arya Stark first meets while he is in chains but he later on becomes a forced member of the Night’s Watch helping Arya to find her brothers.

According to "MovieWeb" our dear Captain America Chris Evans has been offered the lead role in MOTOR CITY, a peculiar film
which has only one line of dialogue in the entire story, and revolves around a crook who is framed and dead set on revenge when he gets out of the jail. The film will be produced by Warner Bros. Heat Vision reveals that director Paul Schrader's new project will be BAIT, a thrilling psychological flick about a young man itching to take his revenge against the wealthy. Working at a posh beach club, he angles his way on to a yacht filled with the obnoxious elite, commandeering it into waters filled with naughty man-eating sharks.

 As "Variety" reports, after he finishes MAN OF STEEL Zack Snyder (300, WATCHMEN) will again do something entirely different: THE LAST PHOTOGRAPH will be a story revolving
around a photograph that becomes the catalyst for a journey two men undertake through war-torn Afghanistan. The lead roles are reserved for Christian Bale and Sean Penn. A new animated film coming out in 2013 will be ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH set on planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population. He is sent on a mission to a notoriously dangerous planet Earth where he finds himself caught in a fiendish trap. Beside Fraser the voice cast will also include Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Alba and James Gandolfini!

  7. THE BANSHEE CHAPTER sounds interesting and BAIT sounds scary hehe.

  8. Both Banshee and bait sound interesting.

  9. Motor City has me confused. I'm not sure how you make a movie with only one line of dialogue. I suppose we can just look at Chris Evans for an hour and a half. :)

  10. Brendan Fraser still getting some work, good for him lol. He always holds a special place in my cinematic heart because I loved Encino Man as a kid, and Bedazzled was and still is a guilty pleasure of mine.

  11. Thank you for gorgeousness today, my friend. Oh the tasty goodness. ;)

    I am all about The Banshee Chapter, Bait and The Last Photograph. They sound deliciously intriguing.

  12. Why would they change the name of Asha to Yara? Hmph. I'm not sold on that guy playing Jaqen H’ghar, either. Double hmph.

  13. The Banshee Chapter sounds like my kind of film. I love mind altering drugs--I mean films about mind altering drugs.

    Last Photograph should be interesting. One of my favorite actors, Christian Bale, paired with one of my least favorite people, Sean Penn.

  15. Idea of The Banshee Chapter sounds quite interesting while Motor City with Chrevan and only one line of dialogue in the entire story.. Boring...

  16. Any news of Game of Thrones and I am in!! I really can't wait to see more of the show. Was my favourite thing all year so far!!

  17. Motor City has potential and hadn't heard about Fraser for a while, where have I heard Baab before??

    ReplyDelete
  18. Chris Evans is everywhere right now. He's Hollywood's new golden boy. On the other hand, where has Brendan Fraser been these last few years...possibly making bad movies I haven't seen!

  19. Chris Evans is everywhere! He's growing on me. Fast. :D

  20. @Libby
    glad you think so, Libby!

    @Lyndy
    BAIT really does sound charming in a certain weird way :) it will surely be a thrilling film to watch.

    @Dirty
    glad to hear that, Dirty!

    @Luanne
    just hour and a half? I think we could stare at him at least for two hours or more if necessary :)

  21. @Chris
    BEDAZZLED was nice, especially since it had Elizabeth Hurley as the devil :))

    @Melsy
    be welcome, Melsy, I knew at least someone would appreciate today's hunkfest :)

    @Allyson
    they changed her name because there already is a character of the similar name in the show, so they wanted to avoid the possible confusion

    @Arlee
    you took that sentence about Bale and Penn right out of my mouth :)

  22. @Jaccsy
    I think that the fact it has just one line of dialogue could make it extremely interesting not boring, Jaccsonville :P

    @Custie
    and I'm really on the spot with these GOT news since I post them just hour or two after Jackson puts them on his Facebook profile :)) That's what you get when you follow Peter there :)

    @Lurk
    I must investigate, it seems that those blue aliens are familiar to many people here :)

    we do love Chris Evans! Brendan has been around, but he was shooting lots of lovely family movies which most fanboys don't like, but I do, we've seen him in JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH and in FURY VENGEANCE too recently. I do wish to see him in deep dramas too, because he was outstanding in CRASH and in THE QUIET AMERICAN

    @Sam
    well, how could he not grow on you, I mean just look at him :)))You just wanna adopt him and pat him and call him George :)

  24. Now, is it a one-line synopsis for MOTOR CITY or just one line of dialogue for the whole movie? Sometimes it's the lack of dialogue that makes the movie an experience rather than entertainment. Did you ever see SOLDIER with Kurt Russell? He had, maybe, 15 lines of dialogue the entire movie, and he was in almost every shot of the film. Not the greatest movie ever made, but an interesting story and well done. (and it had Sean Pertwee (son of Doctor Who #3 Jon Pertwee).

    Otherwise, you had me until you mentioned SJP.

  25. Zachary Quinto was fabulous as Spock. In your Hobbit poll, I voted for Stephen Fry because I adore him so.

    ReplyDelete
  26. as far as I got it, just one dialogue line, which means it will mostly be a silent movie :)
    I've watched SOLDIER, for some reason it is often broadcast on TV here.
    This just confirms my theory that boys despise everything SJP stands for.

  27. @Debra
    Zachary is an extremely interesting actor and person, and I also adore his sense of style. He was the only interesting character in HEROES too.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Now, now. I'm not disputing that Sylar was a great character and that Zachary Quinto played him perfectly, but despite the fact that they kept screwing him over, I thought Hiro Nakamura was a great character.

    ReplyDelete
  29. he he ... I must admit I would usually dose off everytime Hiro would get a spot in the show, which was too often if you ask me, but I know lots of people liked him. I also loved Claire Bear :) but I generally like HAyden Pannetiere.

  30. It probably goes back to why I like Doctor Who so much. It's all about being a master of space and time.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Also, what's this crap I hear about remaking WAR GAMES?!?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  32. oooh.... there was an episode of buffy where they only had- i don't know- not very much dialogue. and WOW! it is my favorite episode ever! done right, they can really build suspense that way. sounds intersting!

  33. Such a stupid name change. Osha wasn't mentioned often by name in the first season, and she's not a big player in the next few seasons (aside from saving Bran and Rickon after Theon tries to kill them). Why not change her name? Idiots.

    Hopefully Jaqen H'gar will have his red-and-white hairdo. Fortunately, Arya saves him from Lannister's men. Unfortunately, he disappears after this season.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think Zachary Quinto is not getting enough work. He's such an interesting actor. And Brendan Fraser is the male version of J-Lo. He has the ability to make interesting films, and yet he always goes for fluff. What gives? ;p

    ReplyDelete
  35. Who's SJP?

    And i'm happy to know i am not the only one who liked Hayden on heroes

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Josh
    I've no idea what WAR GAMES is, Josh :)

    @Vics
    ah, I didn't know that, I didn't watch BUFFY :) but I love experiments in shows :)

    @MJ
    I hope JAqen will be interesting since I quite like this German actor Tom!

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Leigh
    he really should be getting more work! He is amazing
    And when it comes to evil J.Lo here at H.SPY we despise her, have you heard that she just did a photo shoot for VOGUE dressed in a white fox fur coat? Evil witch!

    @Dirty
    Sarah Jessica Parker :)
    Ah, we're not the only ones, most people loved her, she was too cure and lovely :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jaqen is pretty cool. The problem is, up to this point, we haven't learned why he's in King's Landing's dungeon, and we don't know why he's so dangerous, but he starts Arya down her path of being a faceless man, a type of assassin that is trained in the free city of Braavos.

    And, like I said, as far as we know (though I think I know where he is in the books), Jaqen disappears after the second season.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Lots of interesting stuff coming up. Look forward to Game of Thrones a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  40. that's interesting, I just hope that there will be more focus on characters, since the first season was extremely confusing in that respect, I pretty much didn't remember any of them from the first season except Sean Bean's and princess Daenery's character.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Mary
    glad you liked today's news :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ahhh...well, for me i don't have anything against Sarah Jessica Parker, but she has yet to star in a movie i found worth checking out

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't either, Dirty, but men did hate her character in SEX AND THE CITY. Differently from other girls in the show, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda whom most men like, SJP's Carrie presents everything men hate about women - superficial, self-obsessed, overly analytical, egoistic ... and she dressed badly if you ask men :)
