STUNNING NEW POSTER FOR SF EPIC "PRIEST"! STEPHEN DALDRY & RICHARD CURTIS TO ADAPT "TRASH"! MICHAEL FASSBENDER HAS "GOOD VIBRATIONS", SCARLETT JOHANSSON AS ALIEN SEDUCTRESS IN "UNDER THE SKIN"

Check out a stunning new poster for PRIEST, one of the most exciting sf epics coming to cinemas this May. With amazing cast including Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet, Karl Urban, Maggie Q, Lily Collins, Stephen Moyer, Mädchen Amick and
Christopher Plummer, the film is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. Paul Bettany plays a legendary warrior priest from the last Vampire War, who now lives in obscurity among the other human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities controlled by the Church. But when his 18-year-old niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires in the desolate wastelands outside, he breaks his sacred vows and ventures out to find her and seek vengeance upon those responsible, especially their brutal leader (Karl Urban). He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a local outpost sheriff, and Priestess (Maggie Q), a member of his former legion of vampire-killers who has otherworldly fighting skills.

CASTING HEADLINES Michael Fassbender will take the lead role in GOOD VIBRATIONS,a film about Terri Hooley, a famous punk rock impresario. *Bret McKenzie has been officially confirmed as the new addition to THE HOBBIT cast where
he will play elf Lindir of Rivendell. *Sean Hayes, hilarious Jack from WILL AND GRACE has been cast as Larry in the Farrelly brothers THE THREE STOOGES remake. *The new main contenders for the lead role in THE BOURNE LEGACY are Jeremy Renner and Luke Evans. One of them will continue the franchise without Matt Damon. *Scarlett Johansson's UNDER THE SKIN  should start shooting this summer according to "Beyond Hollywood", with her playing an alien on Earth, disguised in the flawless body of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery  using her voracious sexuality to snare human prey. My boys will surely like that one :)

Brilliant bestselling book TRASH from British writer Andy Mulligan has found its dreamteam for a film adaptation. The story will be adapted by amazing Richard Curtis (author of British TV classics BLACK ADDER, THE VICAR OF DIBLEY, and film classics FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, NOTTING HILL) and directed by award winning  and equally amazing filmmaker Stephen Daldry (THE HOURS, and one of my most favourite films ever THE READER). The thrilling story is set in the third world, and follows three boys who eke out a living picking through rubbish mounds, until a surprise discovery sets them on a breathtaking adventure pitting their wits against corruption and authority.

  1. Priest looks pretty OK...although its title may carry some negative connotations.

    And the news about that Three Stooges movie just seems to be getting worse and worse. I remember when Jim Carrey was attached. What happened?

  2. Actually, trash looks really good. Can't wait.

    it does, it could be a great and touching drama! Especially with those two film experts in the team :)

    @Andrew
    oooh, I actually love the negative connotations your are probably thinking of :) Yep, they've kinda went for relatively unknown actors instead of the announced superstars in THREE STOOGES.

    TRASH does sound like a potentially great film!

  5. Well, you know I'm not happy about Matt Damon being replaced as Bourne, but since you gave me a Michael Fassbender update, it's all good.

  8. I love Sean Hayes as Jack and think he will be great as Larry. I'm dying for Priest, though. Paul, Karl and vampires...Can't get much better unless Paul and Karl will be removing clothes. I know, naughty, naughty. ;)

  9. I wouldn't mind seeing either Renner or Evans takeover the Bourne Legacy, knowing full well, the series will be taking sort of a "sidequel" mode.

    And I love Scarlett—lovely picture!

  10. Priest of course sounds interesting (even if it is another vamp movie) and I'm excited by Trash :)

  11. The only reason I'd ever watch the Bourne series is if Luke were cast. I'm not too keen about the franchise reboot but for Luke I'd watch it. If Renner is cast then buh-bye Bourne.

  12. Trash looks like an awesome movie, and I love awesome movies. Heck, I just love movies!

    I met you at Arlee's just now. Great interview. I came over to meet you. A most interesting site. I'm looking forward to following you.

  13. Hey Dezzy - I'm so looking forward to PRIEST. =D

    I'm loving all of the alien hoopla lately. Although, has there been a great one in the past year? I think everyone's waiting on mine. CONNECTED: The Kelvieri's Boots. Just saying. LOL

  15. I'm morbidly curious about Under the Skin, only because I read the book it's being based from, and it's the weirdest thing I've read to date. But ScarJo is a pretty good pick, from what I remember.

  18. That is a great new poster of Priest!! I am honestly interested in Under the Skin. I hope it doesn't turn out cheesy because I am actually into seeing this one. Scarlett looks amazing in that photo!!

  19. I've heard about Priest before, but wasn't much interested enough. That poster does look pretty cool though. It very much has a 'Dark Knight' vibe to it as well. I also love Paul Bettany.

    As for The Three Stooges, I have faith that Sean Hayes has the comedic chops to definitely do slapstick, just not so sure how well he can pull off that particular role. Loved him in Will and Grace, just not convinced he can actually be Larry.

  20. I've never read the book, but I'm sure the 'Trash' movie will be good and it will garner a lot of critical praise, as did Slumdog and a lot of similar types of films.

  21. I want to like Priest, I really do, but I just can't get LEGION out of my head. I am hoping for something a bit, heck, ALOT better this time around. Maggie Q rocks my boat though....yumyum.

    Trash should be in safe hands with Mr Curtis.

  25. @Ann
    thanks, Ann, I hope we will be seeing you often around here :) I often post news on books being adapted into films, and that's usually interesting to the writers among my dear readers ;)

    @Shells
    yep CONNECTED will make a big bang in Hollywood :) Hunter PArish will get the main role beside Soarise Ronan :))

    @Arlee
    yes, the comments were really warm and nice, I don't remember seeing such kind and warm response before from commentators. Too bad, that most of them didn't pop over here as well, but as I said, I know writers don't like movies that much. You were a great host!

    @Summer
    hey, I didn't know it was based on a book, that's interesting :) The plot does sound super weird :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Vics
    Paul Bettany does that sometimes to people :))

    @El
    a month and the waiting will be over :)

    @Nicole
    ah, Nicole, with that plot I highly doubt that it won't be extremely cheesy :)

    @JL
    I've been in love with PRIEST since we saw the first posters and trailer. It's totally my kind of sf film.

  27. @Jaccsy
    slumdog was my first thought as well :)

    @Custard
    he he he ... I must admit I loved LEGION, because unlike other people I knew what to expect and I didn't expect it not to be super cheesy :) It was made to look like a cheap video film from 90's :)

    @Francesca
    glad you like it

    @Jack
    it does look super good :)

  28. Priest; love Paul Bettany and Trash sound great to me! I love how versatile Bettany is~

    ;-D I have a little something for you on my blog; that you might enjoy! You n' my Mom both love, ...come see!

  29. Bettany really is one of the actors who isn't afraid to chose crazy roles for himself :)
    I'm coming over :)

  30. Great photo of Scarlett, she looks like Marilyn Monroe here.

  31. This is totally off topic, but we were watching some making of specials for Game of Thrones last night, and it is looking really good.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I had reservations about Priest, but I'm getting pretty excited about it. Trash sounds pretty good too; if Richard Curtis is at the helm then it should be pretty sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  33. No Henry Cavill today? :) Just teasing. Priest looks good and Trash. I'll have to add that book to my list. My husband will be very happy about Scarlet Johanson as an alien.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Liking the sound of Trash. And it will be interesting to see what they do with Under The Skin. It's never a good idea to watch a movie after reading the book, but that book was out so long ago, I'm safe. Not to mention i can't remember what I had for breakfast.

  35. @Avalon
    it's from her Louis Vuitton shoot :)

    @Matthew
    the first 15 minutes of the show have been released yesterday, so you may catch that one of Internet as well

    @Jamie
    Richard Curtis is a guarantee that it will be great :)

  36. @MPax
    no Cavill today :( I'm sure mister Hubs will be thrilled about ScarJoe :)

    @Michael
    it's an old book? I never thought it was a book, sounding so cheesy :) It seems more of a visual project.
