You already know that classic TV series from the 80's
21 JUMP STREET, which starred
Johnny Depp is getting a film remake. The latest update is that James Franco's brother, dashing
Dave Franco has joined the cast which already includes
Channing Tatum and
Ice Cube in the story which follows a group of undercover cops who infiltrate a high school to stop crime. Younger Franco will play the most popular kid in high school who also happens to be a drug dealer. The producers are currently trying to get
Johnny Depp in a short cameo appearance.
Now this certainly sounds like a hot little duo:

new ABC show centers on a worried mom who, after her son disappears in Italy while overseas for a summer internship, takes it upon herself to travel to Europe and track him down. It soon becomes clear that this isn’t any ordinary woman, but a former CIA agent who will stop at nothing to bring her son home alive.
Sean Bean will play her dead husbands who will appear to her in flashbacks throughout the show.

the film will center on a boy who befriends an injured dolphin who lost her tail in a crab trap. In the real life, the marine mammal's strong survival instincts become an inspiration to people with special needs throughout the world.

What a great movie! I'm not too much into the charming films but I love Judd.

ReplyDeleteI remember watching reruns of 21 Jump Street in my youth. It was probably the first time I've ever seen Johnny Depp. I didn't know they were doing a remake. I'm pleasantly surprised, although, it's probably going to be your standard b-movie action fare.

The dolphin story sounds fun for the family. Next week we (my family) are going to do a dolphin encounter. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteSeeing that trailer just makes me think of my own missed opportunity to see dolphins when I was in Hawaii. We got up early and waited for an hour. It wasn't until we'd decided to go back to my in-law's house that we discovered the dolphins had passed right by us and we hadn't seen them. :( Very sad indeed.

I loved the original 21 Jump Street. I was a tween when it came out. And it was so fresh and exhilarating to watch at the time. Some remakes are poorly done, and I hope this one doesn't join the bunch.

Wow, Dolphin Tale looks pretty awesome. Morgan Freeman is always worth watching, so I'd see it for him alone. I also like Harry Connick Jr though. I'm not sure if Michael Shannon can pull off a good Zod, but I guess we'll see huh?

I hate it too! But there are also aquariums with injured whales and dolphins which would otherwise die without the support from humans.
